Sorry about my noob question, but I am new to this whole push-button start concept... When I am starting the car, do I hold the button for a second until the engine turns over like I would with a normal car? Or do I just press the button once and the car will start by itself?

just push it and let go. you don't need to hold it down.

you can push it 2x quickly to turn on the electronics, etc.

what he said. i was playing around with it and discovered the electronics on technique.

Also if you double tap it while the car is on it will turn the engine off and keep the stereo on.

definitely!! I love the push button...I like not having to take the fob out of my pocket EVER haha

yeah, very convenient, i just keep the fob in the small pocket in my jeans, you know the one designed to fit the fob....

The fob only needs to go in there if the battery is dead. Have you been putting the fob in there every time you start your car?

My infiniti dealer told me the FOB doesn't charge your battery

I've stuck it there for hours and nothing happened, still get the low battery indicator

Nah it doesn't charge the fob's battery Sam...just if the fob battery is dead it will prevent you from starting the car (b/c the car will think there is no fob at all) and so putting it in the slot makes the car recognize it.

But the only way to "charge" the fob is to change the battery

I thought the slot was simply a key holder and nothing else. I keep mine in there all the time when I'm driving or if it's in the garage. Should I not be?!
