Missing Plastic piece?

I was vacuuming my new G today and looking at the bottom of the steering wheel assembly it has a metal connector but at the ends of the two plastic pieces it looks like it has slots where another piece of plastic could fit in and cover this (see photo). Am I missing a piece or is this just how it is? I don't remember it looking like this in my last G.

I just looked at mine. You're missing a plastic piece that goes in the center to cover that.

Thanks Betty! I thought it should have a piece there and didn't remember my other G looking like that. You have to watch these dealers!!
