Couple of Issues with G37s
Hey guys , I've been on looking up this forum for a while now and figured to finally register and ask a couple of questions .
Is this a problem I only face , or its a standard problem :
1) RPM does not go above 5 , while stationary .. or not moving .
2) Stock Exhaust sounds like **** ! compared to a 06 350z for instance
3) Any way of uploading Custom POI to the Navigation system ( aka trapster )
** btw my g37s is a GCC spec not USA spec **
Other questions
1)Shall I even think off lambo doors or not ? ( i live in country where everyone shows off their cars ( more visually than performance wise )
2) If RPM locking is intentional , how can i over-ride it
3) How to remove ABS locks/fuse , so i can do Burn outs in one place
Sorry if i sound like a noob .
Thanks ,
Looking forward for some answers .

1) They have the limiter because they don't you to blow your engine. Cause I'm sure all of us would be going past red-line if we can.
2) Yes stock exhausts do sound like crap.
3) Yes there should be a thread about it some where if I can remember straight.
others:
1) IMO NO I'm not a big fan of lambo doors on any other cars expect Lambo.
2) Well if you have a 6 mt just stick it 1st gear with the clutch held down but warn you it is bad for the car.
3) Once again not sure why you would do that because it is for security reasons.

haha wow, this should be an interesting thread but i'll entertain these questions without being mean...
-i think you may be the only one who rev's to 5k in park so who knows.
-shouldnt have bought the car if you dont like it
-no
-no
-you cant for obvious reasons

Qusmio, One of the worst things you can do to a VVel is "rev", "race", "goose"
or run up the RPMs on the engine while not under load. Nissan not only says
not to do it, but also put a "fuel cut" mode in the ECU at 4K when not under load.
Why? the VVEL system essentially functions as the throttle in this intake
system. The Valve openings and advance is controlled by a "actuator motor" that
is driven by oil pressure build-up and release. When there is no load and the
pressure builds guess what happens? Because there is no load and no resistence
the VVEL spins up at full tilt and faster than it ever would or could when it's
under load. This results in several very ugly things: severe lash in entire valve
train and oil starvation occuring simultaneously. It's very easy to loose uniform
clearances and tolerances in the entire valve train.....not to mention what
it can do to a piston and head from "slap". Even though your gas
is cut off at 4K, your engine is spinning up so fast that it gets all the way
to 5k as you descrbe before the inertia peaks. If your engine starts running
rough at startup in a few thousand miles, it's a safe bet the tolerances and
clearances in the VVEL system have varied from cylinder to cylinder.
There are lots of posts describing the rough idle that results from this
but not many who will admit it's because they constantly "rev" their
engine.

-Please dont bring your G to the dealership complaing of rough startup and idle after you rev your engine and bounce off the fuel cut off every chance you get!
-Lambo doors are gay.
-Idk about the POI. What is trapster anyway?
-The stock exhaust isn't too bad...
-Yea um please disable the ABS then post up some pics of your wrecked G after someone in front slams on their brakes and you lock up yours and plow into them. K thanks

I think the stock exhaust sounds good, any louder or throaty sounds ricer. It's a not a Ferarri
Not sure I would call them issues, working as designed. You may not like the design (again, why buy the G then) but those items are not broken.

-you are probably the only person who would think of taking the RPM above 5K while stationary. keep doing it and see how your engine likes it
-stock exhaust sounds fine.
-sure, go ahead and think of lambo doors. just dont do it. ever.
-make sure someone is following you with a camera 100% of the time so that when you destroy your car b/c the ABS doesnt work I want to see it
