well whatever floats your boat, go for it.
ill stick to my method.
You aren't going any faster using this method. What you are doing is breaking torque, then stomping it and having the torque kick in at a higher RPM so it "feels" like it is accelerating faster. In other words it's the same idea as taking your car to 6000rpm in 3rd gear, then taking your foot off the gas and stomping it. Yeah it's going to kick you in the back then.

Example:

When I raced a friends Evo 8 back when I had my Z I left my car in 3rd, which I only had about maybe 1k rpm left in my powerband on the speedo. When I stomped the gas the torque kick made me feel like I was accelerating quickly but he walked right by me.

The next run I started in 4th in what felt like a much weaker point in the powerband, outcome we pulled even with each other and either didn't give an inch.

Whether it "feels" faster doesn't mean much. Drive like a bad out of hell at the drag strip spinning tires and you will feel like you should be in the 12's before they hand you a 14.5 time slip. Drive smooth with maintaining your traction and you won't feel as fast but your time slips will show it. My 2 cents.

Outcome: The butt dyno is deceiving. Don't lift to shift on an auto.

Does that apply with the 6mt as well?
It seems with vdc off, there is no control by the ecu with you boot it. However, I have not tried much yet, since my car is still new.

When you have time you will try it later? It's called normal driving. You dont lift your foot off the gas when you shift in the Auto. Should've just gotten the 6MT then.
