Who is your insurer?

New member who has been lurking a bit. I tried searching, but couldn't find any recent posts regarding insurers. Just wondering which company coupe owners are using, and what you're paying. Having a tough time getting under $3k/year with no at-fault accidents and one speeding ticket on my record living in the Tampa Bay area.

There is a search please use it next time.

I use Nationwide I use to be with GIECO but Nationwide started giving me a better rate. I pay $750 every 6 months and I'm only 24. I was paying $1260 every 6 months from GIECO.

Thanks for the advice. Tried using the search, didn't get any relevant results for a 2010 G37 Coupe, and did not find anything relating to 6MT cars.

You didnt mention your age, that might have alot to do with your rate. Also your credit score factors in as well...
Your probably not going to find a major difference in rates among the more common insurance carriers.
I've got Allstate... I'm paying $1100/yr , my 07' Dodge Ram costs more to insure ($1650/yr)!

Thanks for the info everyone. I'm 32 with one accident that was not my fault (rear-ended at a stop light) and one ticket in the past 5 years. Credit score is in the 800s, so no worries there, either. I'm guessing the main problem is my area. This part of Tampa sees a LOT of crashes and I am guessing there are a significant number of uninsured motorists running around this place. All that said, $3k/year seems a little absurd, even on a car in the $40k range.

While I'm thinking about, my coverage details are: Provider - Geico, Liability - 100/300, Comp/Coll - $500ded/$500ded, UM/UIM - 10/20, no roadside assistance, $20/day/$600 maximum rental. That includes all of the details I can remember at the moment.

about 700 with travelers. i called up like 7 different insurance companies, got quotes from all of them, and chose the cheapest. it's not unlike buying a car.

I'm in Torrance, CA and with State Farm I'm paying $1008/yr with 250/500/100 liability, $500 deductibles on collision and comp, $5000 med pay, roadside asst, rental $50/day $1200 max, uninsured motorist 250/500.

$3K/yr does seem rather high given the OK coverages listed. Of course age plays a factor. I was paying $4,400/yr when I was 24 and driving a 300ZX TT.

Regardless of what you buy, make sure you compare equivalent or similar coverages. The most important thing is not necessarily price. If you have a house or any assets or have a good job, you want to make sure you have the right coverages so if something bad happens, you won't risk losing your assets or getting your wages garnished b/c you didn't have enough insurance.

If you have a house, I'd also recommend getting an umbrella policy. I bought a $1 million umbrella policy that stacks on top of all my auto and homeowners policies and it was only another $250/yr.
