Road Trip!

Hello! I'm going to pick up my 2008 G37s CPO this Thursday in Dallas. My buddy is coming with me to make the trek back home to Maryland. So far, the plan is to spend Thursday night around Dallas, drive to Memphis on Friday, drive to Raleigh on Saturday, and finally back to MD on Sunday. I basically put the route into google maps, and this is what it spit out:

Dallas, TX to Columbia, MD - Google Maps

Any suggestions for alternate routes/good backroads to help me get "acquainted" with my G37s? How is interstate traffic around those parts? General experiences with longer trips in the G?

I wanted to post this in a regional forum but there isn't one that fits all the states. I figured I'd post it in here since I'd be frequenting this section the most anyways!

Wow. Why don't you down to Dallas instead of driving? Flying should be cheaper than driving. Also, where are you buying your car in Dallas?

We're flying to Dallas, then driving back to MD. Purchasing from Grubbs Infiniti.

Very nice. Oh if your going to Grubbs you might want to stay out of that highway (183 during rush hour time) the traffic can get really bad and definitely stay away from I-635 at all times.

I purchased my G in Texas. I live in California. I wasn't able to find a White on Black in CA. I flew down to Austin to finalize the deal. I had a auto transport company ship the car back and it was about $550. It took about 3 days. Thought this was better because the gas alone would have cost the same amount plus eliminated some wear and tear on the car. But, have fun driving it back. You'll do some immediate bonding with your G. Congrats!

Are you sure you want to get "aquainted" with a brand new car? Take it easy until closer to home and chances are you know some better roads for that anyways.

Regardless of your choice, congrats on the very fine purchase!!

Only thing I would suggest is getting a clear bra installed before the drive home. Maybe you could give the dealer a call and have them do it already, so it's ready by the time your there? Other then that have fun and be safe.

Good suggestion, at a minimum put on a vinyl bra for the trip,it will save your paint
