Feel bad as a G37x Coupe owner

Your fears are justified. I have never had a car that didn't get dinged by some dork with a p.o.s. So, I take up two spots in the QX, but not at "storefront" and only locally. My theory; generally, the cars around here are nice and their owners take care of them. Me taking up two spots (a ways from the front) not only protects my car, but theirs as well, so who cares. Do this around a lot of crappy cars and the jealous ****** that own them will reward your arrogance with a chisel and hammer.
G always goes at the back of the lot, despite the fact that something hit my door on the freeway and left a nice scratch (within two weeks of picking it up).
I have an interesting story about how my brother and I got a "door-dinger" back, save that one for later.

I always check the distance betwen parking spaces and other cars or try to park next to handicap spot or at the end of the lot. I work in an area that has no respect for other peoples property. So far no dings.

for car dealerships... So many cars actually get dings in transport its not funny.
I'm still a newbie with my ride too... But I've been doing most of those things
with every car I've owned for years now. If I go to the store with my wife
and its cold... She has me drop her off and I'll meet her inside after I park far
away from the careless, inconsiderate folks in parking lots... LOL
You're not crazy... But you should rest assured that if anything happens
you know you'll take care of it right away!!!

There always seems to be some a$$hole in a BMW or MB that does this.
Like my car is better than all others so I get two spots.
Although I'd never vandalize somebody's car; I do feel Gerk-Os like this
deserve a fat loogie on the wind sheild!!!

Like you said, this will probably happen much less often if you park in the back of the lot where spaces are plentiful. But still I'd imagine there will be some jerkoffs who will mess with the car anyway -- especially if you do something to draw attention to it like that.
Really you can't win, I guess.

In response to the double parking, there is such a thing as double parking etiquette. This means not parking close to the establisment and parking far away as possible. Clearly parking up front and taking two spots directly up front would be inconsiderate. In order to have a ding free piece of mind that's the only way I park ( far away and 2 spots) unless it's on the corner and I'm right up to the curb. So there is only half the chance of a ding. It comes with the territory. Kids may be the ones opening doors and not know any better so the far away the better. Of course you may have the haters, but I see no issue with the two spot taking under the conditions stated. Probably one spot would even do if l'm so far out but 2 makes in fool proof. Someonels really got to be pissed off if they do something to the car othwerwise.

Parking at the rear of the lot is a given - Unfortunately, they are redoing our parking lot at work, 1/2 at a time, so parking sucks. I've been parking at the next parking lot over that is only half full.

Got my G37x coupe two months ago, I am acting pretty much the same... it's starting to get on my girlfriend's nerves though..... I always park two inches from a curb or on the painted line of the last parking to get as far I can from other vehicles, but never take up two parking spots... it insults me when I see that!
