Sport vs. Non-sport bumper..an observation.
I was at the Infiniti dealer the other day getting service and saw an AB non-sport that just looked so sweet. I often go back and forth with which look I like "better", so this isn't a thread about one being superior cause I like them both. It occurred to me though that that I like the non-sport because it looks "sportier" (Alanis Morissette IM'd me and said this was ironic but I don't really trust her opinion on that, but anyway..) I like the Sport bumper because I think it looks more elegant/sophisticated, less sports, more luxury. That's my opinion, just wondering if anyone agreed or thought I was way off.

I kinda agree with you. The supposed to be "non"-sport bumper actually looks sportier than the supposed to be sport bumper. But the non-sport bumper looks so similar to the G35's bumper and I've had enough of people saying "hey, nice G35!", that I don't really care.
The non-sport bumper has so much potential to look good with the right aftermarket support, but let's not give any of the vendors here any ideas so they can just focus on the "sport" guys like us.

I think we need to get rid of the need for license plates, both front and rear, to allow bumpers to reach full styling potential. I would think with RFID tags, instead of plates, cars could be tracked as much as the state needs. Plates are like having a tattoo on your forehead! (no offense to those who have that voluntarily)

I really like the look of the S more than the non-S...no contest. The non-S is too pointy for me. I don't really feel one is "sportier" than the other though. Neither are that aggressive compared to the 370Z.

In the age of digital, they really should just need the VIN/Country/State its
registered to and be pushed to all public DMV system. I was so pissed when
I went to get my car. When I first saw it, there was no front plate, so I called
dealer and said, Don't drill holes in the bumper, we can zip tie the bracket to
the lower grill... He agreed but prep team already drilled the holes.

I personally don't like either of them... (don't hate!)
It's just I think most front bumpers (on a sporty car) should have a bigger lip lower to the ground. It starts the lines of a car, and that should continue all the way back.

Couldn't get the options I wanted with the sport so I loaded up a Journey. Wanted the 5sp auto, rosewood/wheat IP so had a local body shop add the sport bumper later and I changed the wheels over to II Crave black/chrome. Actually I swing both ways on both bumpers since the non-sport reminds me of the good ol’ G35 days, but sport won out overall. Totally a matter of taste.
