A question about the torque of the g37 coupe.

So i have an 04 civic right now with 140hp and around 130 torque. i know the g37 has 270 torque but it's also alot heavier than my civic, the civic is about 2850 pounds. I want the AT g37s i heard the AT is great and when you paddle shift you can feel the car shake a little i like that. So my question is how much can you feel the torque in the g37, how are the g forces within the car. g forces is the speed of acceleration relative to free fall. Like exactly what happens when you downshift and step on the gas pedal lets say 80% of the way, does your back sink into the seat, your head snaps back, or what?. i mean i'm pretty sure the is350, 335i have similiar feelings since 0-60 is about the same 5 seconds.

oh yeah and how much torque do you need at the wheels to actually feel your body sink into the seat, this is what i'm looking for

Why not just go for a test drive?

It's all relative to what you're used to. When I had my 350Z stock, I thought it felt like your head was whipping back and body sinking into the seats. Then I put on a TT kit and REALLY felt it, but then got used to it again. Now that I'm in the G, it does not feel like there is "enough" to do what you're describing.

so you don't feel it enough in the G37? damn so u think i should lean towards the 370z or even a shelby? because i am looking for this. Also, i test drove the g37 but i didn't take it to red line because the guy said don't red line it.

First all,, coming out from a civic,, this car will feel fast.. but if you want mad torque,, go for the shelby. dont even waste time here.. the 370z alone is already alot faster than the G37, stock for stock. The G37 feels fast but that feeling will fade real fast,, at least for me it did.

well I came from a fully built strocker 3.5 CL.... my G37 feels like it has a better bottem end pull Vs the old CL but on the top end I think my CL would take it.. but again my G is stock. Im sure with intakes and cats adding 30whp from what I hear my G would be destroy my CL.

The G's power curve is very linear so it delivers power very smoothly. No lag at all, up the way up till redline. Thats probably why it doesn't put u in your seat.

This happens with anything ...boat owners always want a bigger one, Big Screen owners want a bigger one, Girls want a bigger one, oh wait, you get my point. Buy what you think looks good, is comfortable and has decent performance for everyday driving (how often are you really going to be able to get on it). To get your freak on, buy a Hayabusa.

I'm not happy with the Tq at all with the G37S. Seems like very low power below 3000RPM.

Linear torque delivery tends to do that.

If you want low RPM torque, get a Hyundai Genesis. Seriously.

It loses out to a G37 up top, but down low, it has way more torque.
