Sounds scary. Natural reaction when you see something fly towards your face is probably to avoid it like you did rather than to think about your deductible and go against your reflex to let it hit your windshield, haha. Sorry to hear but good thing it wasn't any worse.

yup, something like this is always out of ones control..went to the body shop today, since the fender is steel and not aluminum, it can be repaired along with replacing the mirror assembly entirely, quote was $1500..we'll see what my insurance say's, hopefully they dont charge me a deductible since it wasnt my fault..

ouch that sucks man. Similar thing happened to my white G37. A truck next to me kicked up a piece of metal (this is California, yay highway maintenance) into my left quarter panel. Trip to the body shop fixed it right up

since you are going through insurance, I would take it to a high end body shop rather than a body shop around the corner. your already paying the deductible so why not take it somewhere good.

when I needed work on my car, I called bmw/mercedes and got their body shop. Something about a body shop who has bently's, bmw's and range rover in their shop makes me feel at ease

Also keep in mind that this type of incident should be covered under your comprehensive coverage, not collision, and generally most people have a lower deductible. Ask your insurance company. The reasoning is comprehensive coverage covers all non-collision damage such as vandalism or flying debris on the roadway. That also should not impact your premium.

I dont think its going to impact my premium, but im sure you know being in NH, MA does have some messed up rules and laws regarding insurance, I tried hard getting out of paying the deductible but that didnt work either.

Ow! You might be able to get a refund for damages through the state or county. This link talks about filing a claim with the Mass. Department of Transportation for damages resulting from potholes.
Massachusetts Law About Potholes and Road Defects

I had a small rock hit my front windshield about three weeks ago because some lazy labors here in southern California didn't close some containers they had in back of there truck and towing a small yellow trailer that was used to carry some small tractor or something. The deductible for glass replacement is only $100.00 from my insurance. Sorry to see that type of damage inflected on your sweet car. I hope everything works out for you and watch those trucks carefully when driving.
