Ugh...well, at least a cop saw it and the bus driver stopped, so insurance shouldn't be a hassle at all IMO...yeah, you'll have to be in a rental for a bit..but it should look and be fine once the body shop is done.

Dropped it off at the shop waiting for total and how long it will take to repair.
My insurance pays 30 bucks a day for rental, they gave me an upgrade for 10 bucks a day and got a Mercedes-Benz C-300 Kinda takes the sting off getting my G whacked by a school bus.

Trippen,
I think this will make you feel better...
Drive down to Anaheim Hills Auto Body. They are near La Palma and West of Tustin Blvd, north of the 91 freeway. Ask for Scott or John, they will show you what they do, the facility etc. Tell them Bob with the rearended 2009 G37 and the rearended 2009 Camry sent ya. ;-)
You have a third party claim, you are in control here.

Sorry man, that sucks. At least a cop saw it so there is no way that bus driver can screw you over. I also think you will be able to get that fixed and won't be able to tell anything happened until the new paint ages years down the road.

Another thing to consider since it was not your fault is filing a diminished value claim with her insurance, even if it is a government plan. Basically this type of claim will pay you additional funds for this accident. It is calculated by comparing what you car was worth before with no damage versus what it is worth now if you were to sell it. I had 2000 Trans AM that got creamed by some woman talking on a cell and I filed a claim once the repair was done. I got an additional $2,000 check. If you can succeed with this, pay down your loan or go mod shopping.

Similar thing happened to my roommate from college's 1984 Firebird. Bus literally went over the front end and the entire car rocked (we were in it trying to pass on the left when the bus decided to make a u-turn). We got out and yelled at the bus driver and drove away... no damage. That thing was a tank. Sorry about your G though

I agree. File a diminished value claim with the bus' insurance company. You won't be able to do it with your own, as most states frown upon diminished value in a first-party claim.

Just got call from auto body shop, estimate came in at just under $3,000 and car will be ready in 9 days. They keep reminding be about 1K deductible. Calling insurance company and asking WTF.

If you filed with your own insurance company, unless you have a deductable wavier for not-at-fault claims, they may charge you and subrogate. (I think )

Any claims w/ your insurance will have the deductible unless you want to wait and deal w/ the other party directly. Your insurance co. will send you the deductible check after the other party agrees to pay.
