^ Now that is truly getting owned by a pothole.
WOW HOLY COW. That is insane how it made the air bag deploy. Well if you want new rims and you filed it with your insurance and have $0 detectable you should file it with your insurance. Wait that is if you want your insurance to raise a little bit.

I also miss my car so much =(.

Not sure it would be possible to fix that..

You get what you pay for (well most of the time at least)

Damn, that sucks. Sorry to hear you received such poor customer service from corporate. I do wonder if BMW would've taken the matter into their own hands and gotten you new air bags right away.

Maybe consider a forged wheel instead of a cast one next time if your area is prone to potholes?

Good luck getting that taken care of. About 10 years ago I hit a pothole by Newark Airport that took out both of my right side wheels/tires and (I found out later otherwise I would've gone to court) bent my side frame rail. It was in a 45MPH construction zone and I knew the road was bad so I was going 25-30.

Here's the pothole the next day while the guy was fixing it. There were 17 cars up the road changing tires as I was taking these pictures.

The area was horribly lit at night too so I had even less chance of trying to avoid the pothole. I first contacted the state who told me that I had to contact the construction company. The construction company told me that I had to contact their insurance company. The construction company's insurance company told me I had to contact the state's insurance company. The state's insurance company cited the Tort Act which basically says you can't sue the government with some loopholes that didn't benefit me. It wound up being about $1,100 between towing, overnighting 2 new wheels, overnighting 4 new tires (I was about ready for new tires anyway and the two on the right side were completely destroyed by the pothole), and mount/balance/align. I needed it all done quickly because I was starting a new job a few days later. That's what potholes in the tri-state will do to low-profile tires and crappy wheels. You steel steel alloys and tires with a much beefier sidewall to survive the area in the winter!

Yukkk... Thats why I don't understand why you some G37( 40k+ value) owners buy cheaper cast wheels. They might look nice but I won't put my life or my passengers at risk to save a few bucks. Might as well stay with OE wheels. At least the OEM WHEELS were well tested. First the chikara now mrr. Only cast wheels I would trust are Yokohama advans. My .02
