Is this normal?

I have my traction control off, revving the car to about 4k rpm and dump my clutch, it feels like the gas petal is being step on by itself and the car feels like it doesn't want to go. feels like like its being redline but it is only around 3k-4k. Even when I'm changing from 1st to 2nd. Just very loud revving.

I might be wrong but I doubt your old honda had 270 lb-ft of torque...
And you don't have to dump the clutch from 4k to get a fast start. With a rear wheel drive car and VDC off you'll most likely just spin the tires anyway, its going to be faster to feather till it grabs then dump it.

In any case clutch dumping isnt safe but as you said you only have done it once thus I would head on over to infiniti and tell em to diagnose it, u still have warranty so take advantage of it

I think my fastest launches have been at around 3,500 (VDC off) , feathering it till it grabs a little then let the high RPM power take over I don't truly know the "perfect" method for the best time, I just found my way to be a decent compromise of not beating the **** out of the car, and not comin off the line like I was pedaling a tricycle...
a little off topic but I once drove a boosted civic that I probably wouldn't have paid more then $300 for by looking at it... but he told me to dump the clutch at 6,000rpm so I did, and I have never driven anything that looked so bad but was so fast... and it it was pretty amazing to me that he was running in the 11's with only about 350 to the wheels... I gained a little respect for civics after that one

I knew they were spinning, but I was assuming the tires would have grab on to the road a little faster. I've also seen a crap looking civic run high 10's and low 11's still like my integ better.

Dumping the cluth at 4K is waaay too agressive for the G.. Keep it around 3000/ 3500.
it's important to understand th epowerband of the car that you ar edriving as there are varying techniques thusly required for launch.

I didn't take it to a mechanic to see why the tires were spinning, I took it to see why the car felt like it didn't wanna go even after taking it out from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd while it was revving at 4k.

You know, I've had this happen to me as well. I had about 10k on the clock and decided to have a little fun with the car.. Revved, dropped clutch and all it did was slip to red line, even after shifting to 2nd.
I have a feeling this has to do with a safety feature from Nissan/Infiniti directly, but no one can confirm sadly. 15k miles later my clutch is still great, and I have no problems.
Dont worry, be happy
