I want to buy this G37S........
Hi everyone, i just joined this amazing site and didnt know a site existed for g37 fans. Ive loved this car ever since it came out and i have a g37 wallpaper and its been there for 3 years. I always dreamed of owning a g37 and knew i wasnt going to get one cuz we cant afford one . I have 4 brothers, my 2 older brothers each got their own car and i didnt, i was told i have to get my own car and im trying to fulfill my dream of owning this beast. Im low on funds and college is hectic. However, i stumbled across this G37 on ebay and was wondering if it is a good idea n whether i should buy it or not.
Its a Salvage, with 2k miles (yes only 2000), and its listed for $16k. Im not sure which style it is (journey or sport) but want to get an idea of how much it will cost to fix (parts plus the labor) to get it running again. Im not that experienced with this kind of stuff , so if anyone there can please help me out, i will really appreciate it and if all works out, i can then be proud knowing i got my own car without the help of my dad.

well 16k is kinda cheap for a g37S. but My advise is not to go for it.. bcuz this car will never drive like it used to be.. Unless if you were lucky.. I made an accident on my old g37S 2008.. and the car totaly destroyed, So what i did is i pushed my insurance to totaled my car so i can get a brand new g37S 2009.. bcuz i know even if they fix it, It wont be like b4
Save your money for future bro.. i bet the 2012 g37 will be awsome.. maybe you will be the first one who will own it in your town..

16k sounds good for a G37 but it is still a lot of money and I wouldn't spend a lot of money on a salvaged G. You will end up with more headache and buyer's remorse after you get it. I suggest you save up more and stay practical for now.. finish college, get a stable job and get a car you really want GL!

Just having finished college fairly recently myself, I would say hold off on it. There will always be deals that are ALMOST good enough that you can ALMOST afford.
My advice: finish school, save what you can where you can and then when you are done get a new (if not new, at least in good condition) G for yourself
I think if you get one that needs fixing you will end up pouring money into it time after time down the road. GL man, and welcome to the forum

Well it's missing a radiator so I don't think you can try it out.
College is enough headache already, do you really want to add to that crap?
Edit: Just saw the passenger side.. I'm surprised you're even thinking about it

Then don't do it. Only someone with a lot of mechanical/automotive experience should buy a salvage in this condition. Like the others said, just wait until you can afford a new one. You'll be much happier, and the wait will make you appreciate it that much more.

would you be paying $16K cash for this? When I was in college, my dream was to own a 300ZX. Never got one, but it served as motivation for me to concentrate on finishing my education and getting a good job.

OH my god!! never saw a forum reply so fast with so many helpful people! This Site is the best!!! lol i was amazed and didnt think that even one person would reply, but ummm yea most of you say that i shouldnt do it, the only reason im thinking of getting it are:
1) 2k miles
2) I read its carfax and the police report said it hit a utility pole
3) I have a trustworthy body shop that my friend knows like a brother ( he fixed 7 cars for him)
4) i checked what parts need to be replaced, and all dont cost above 2500$
Just to recap of what needs replaced as to what the guy told me
Hood, windshield, right fender (of course) lol , right headlight and taillight, one wheel, front bumper, grille, drivers airbag and right outside mirror.
I also put up a couple more pictures since alot of you are replying, it is so nice to have the support of all of you even though you dont know me, it really feels good to have a site of g37 owners Best site i ever joined, thanks everyone and any more suggestions on any last resorts about the car ? maybe if the price is lowered?
