Ya I did, waiting for the police to arrive now. When I told the girl I had pictures of her car scratched too, she told me her car has all kind of scratch around (which is true *bad driver/parker*). Let's see what the cops have to say... they should arrive any minute now.

for 1, NO ONE can file for harassment if you simply knock on their door. there is nothing in any law in any state that says a neighbor knocking on your door constitutes harassment.

push this big time, especially since the mark on the other car is IMO a match to the mark on your car (obv we are all just looking at a couple pictures and arent there in person)

hopefully this all works out for you, I know how frustrating dealing with less than honest/intelligent drivers can be

That's absolute CRAP that the police gave you the run around and that the girl is being a b*tch about it. Grrr....what is wrong with people these days? Good luck with the repeat police visit and with the repair.

Don't forget that she's got curlers in her hair and a cigarette hanging outta her mouth while she says "don't judge me....you don't know me!" ala "COPS" style

Cop never came last night, even though the non-emergency numer i called keeps telling me they are busy and that they will come. I think I'll have the apt complex mgmt get the girl's insurance info for me and let the insurance deal with it. I sent the pictures to my insurance company already.

she might be an alcoholic or something. she said she has a lot of scrapes on her car so maybe she's fu**ed up all the time. that parking job she did in that picture certainly supports my theory.

It's at my apartment complex garage. I went to the leasing office immediately and they looked up which apartment the space belongs to. I went back to the garage, left a nice note on their door saying "Hi, you hit my car and I'm contacting the police, please call me at xxx-xxx-xxxx". I then went back to my apartment to call the local police department non-emergency number. 15 minutes later, a police came by and I showed them to the garage and the Civic is gone! I filed a report with them, showed them the pictures that I took. The cop said since their car is no longer here, they can't do much about it. They told me if that person doesn't contact me by tonight, I should call the police again. Then I called my insurance agent and told them everything along with the police report #. The insurance agent told me I shouldn't be so passive and wait a night and that I should be active and just knock on their door to ask for her insurance info and etc.

What's my next step now? Should I just wait for tonight and call the police back tomorrow? Or should I try to go to their apartment tonight?
I also have same thing happen before, its 100% hit and run, you need to have police investigator to do the job and will take about a week.
and your insurance will contact their insurance, she didn't admit its her but also not denite, so it is her. when it happen to me, i wrote down lisence plate number and called police and insurance let them to find her insurance company. and a week later, the police investigator call me back said the other person's insurance will pay, buy they don't admit.

so here is the thing, they will pay and not admit they did, so they don't want to get charge hit and run. so here is it, if their insurance will pay and she still not admit it that she did, thats a hit and run. you should press charge on her. same thing happen to me, but it was a grandma so i didn't press charge, her insurance paid me to fix it but never admit that she did hit my car, but they paid.....so they did. lol
p.s. the police investigator personaly called me and ask me if i want to press charge on that grandma nit and run.

Ya if its a grandma then just paying for the damages should be enough, but if its a younger woman who is fully capable of driving and seeing everything on the road, then she should pay up for her mistake. If she had come to your apartment and said that she hit your car, im sure you wouldve been less pissed, but hitting your car, STILL parking next to it and not saying anything is annoying.

I just came back from the Police dept to file a formal Hit & Run report. But the officer told me that there's no witness/etc, then all the girl have to do is say no she didn't do it, and there's not a single thing I can do about it. They don't take paint sample or any investigation on these type of "misdemeanor" crime, he said. I have like 10 pictures showing the way she parked and how her mark matches mine, but he said they don't prove anything. He said she could say the marks are from previous incidents. Since she already told my apt complex mgmt that she won't admit or deny it, I guess she'll tell the Hit & run dept the same thing... and I can't do SH*T about it!

p.s. anyone has an old car with those hard bumper and has "previous" scratches on them that I can borrow? I need it to ahhhh.... help out Karma.
