'O8 g37, no electrical power

Hey fellas,

Before I have the car towed to a dealer, I was hoping someone can give me a quick fix. I parked my car an hour ago, car has been running fine. I try to start it now, nothing! Not even an overhead light. Diagnosis?

do a search... it'll do wonders, but to answer your question quickly... it's probably a dead battery, a lot of people have had this problem

The 08's are known for having bad batteries... I had the same issue happen multiple times, took it to the dealer, and they gave me a new battery... no problems since.

G37 Electrical issues

For all you G37 owners that have had electrical issues... dead batteries when your car is 7 or 8 months old, problems with you truck opening due to an electrical problem, misses when you try to start your car when you first start it. .... You are not nuts and you are not alone. The day I jumpstarted my G37 and pulled in the dealership with my vehicle, there was another G 37 on a flatbed truck with the same issue.

I will spare you the details of my experience, but this is the deal. It has been discovered by the Infinity brand that there is a defect with the alternator recharging the battery. Infinity service says " folks that do not consistently drive long distances consistently does not allow the battery to be recharged they way it needs to be." Service says a possible solution is to put an over sized battery in the car to 'accomodate drivers that do not drive for extensive periods of time". The car will literally turn off. Hopefully, you call carry jumper cables.
This is ridiculous.
There should be a recall for electrical issues with this model.

The dealership admitted there are electrical issues with G37 2008s. The alternator does not sufficiently recharge the battery if you do not drive long distances. I drive 400 miles a week. Apparently that is not enough.

They suggested putting in an oversized battery
