Just did this today...it took a little longer than I thought it would..should have followed this link to do it

but decided to just 'feel it out' (which was dumb as you can see from the pic). anyway, Infiniti quoted me $54.99 for the non carbon paper filter (LOL), nissan quoted me $29.99, but I got one at Napa for $18, which looked exactly like the one I pulled out of my car. At 13,000 miles the filter didn't look too bad but I noticed a good accumilation of dirt at the bottom edges of the filter. I can definately tell a difference. no more odor plus the a/c feels / smells much fresher.

Jesus man all that work to install a firigin air filter. Couldn't Infiniti make it easier.. shheessk! While I'm at it Ill change bulb to LED.

so instead of paying the dealership $255, you did it yourself for $18?! that's awesome... I'm see it my local NAPA has the filter, any special name, model #, or size I should mention?

The Napa Filter is called Enviroshield 4479. Just ask them what make and model your car is and they'll give you the replacement filter. I brought my used filter in just to make sure the size was correct...it was funny looking at both the Nissan filter and Napa...they were identical...but I guess the dealership had more than a $35 mark up just to stamp 'NISSAN' on the side...LOL.


No I didn't, sorry. I was just a little perplexed at the complexity of changing an in-cabin filter. My wife's Scion TC took me litteraly 2 minutes to replace the in-cabin filter...so, yeah I was a little in shock. LOL.


I can tell you that despite my fiddling around, the next go-around will be much easier. A lot of time spent was trying to easily nudge the plastic pieces out as to not break them. Plus all you needed was a phillips screw driver and a flat head.

I'm am definatley looking forward to a Gen 3 stillen intake install.

Yeah this job isn't that hard. It's DEFINITELY not worth shelling out $100-200+ for the dealer to do this. You can do it yourself in under an hour (I could do it in 20 mins now that I know how to take that part of the lower dash apart). Save that money for girls or beer....or both

i just got a quote from TO Nissan for a carbon cabin filter for $41...kinda pricey but waaay under Riverside Infiniti's price of $75. I wonder if the carbon is even worth it...

Hey. Just a heads up. Next time just buy it from here. Its cheaper and you can get a carbon filter for just about the same price.

i always use the carbon one.... just like a central air unit for your home, if you switch it every few months w/ the cheaper filter, you'll be fine. i just do mine once a year which helps my allergies

If the link doesn't already bring you to the cabin air filter page. Simply type in your model, year, etc. Scroll down to Engine and Drivetrain. Click on Heating and Air Conditioning then acc cabin air filter. There are 3 filters for the G. The carbon filter is the second one.
