HELP! My G37 has a mind of its own & is trying to kill me!

I dont know how to explain this. This happens a lot. Whenever i am stopped at red lights or am pulling into a spot my car rev's up and tries to slam into the car in front of her (if in drive) or tries to slam into the car in back of her (if in reverse).

I thought i saw someone post something about this a few months ago and i think they called it an "rpm correction"

Can someone tell me whats up with this? I let this slide as it used to happen like once a month but now this is guranteed to happen at least once a day and it usually happens way more than that.

I will be driving along then i press the breaks and it is as if some ghost is slamming on the gas revving up the engine trying to make me lose control of the car. And it is very hard not to lose control. I literally have to press hard on the breaks for the car not to move. The other day i actually had to shut the car off half way into a parking spot because it was revving soo strong that if i let go of the breaks the car woulda slammed the hell outta the parked car behind me.

Please help. What is this? and how do i solve it?

I don't think there is a TSB for this. It does not sound like it would even come close to the TSB for '2009 INFINITI MODELS; 7 SPEED A/T; HARSH 4-3 DOWNSHIFT ON DECELERATION'. He mention the the engine revs on it's own in Drive and Reverse when braking. But yeah take it to the dealer and if they can't fix it call your insurance company. That way they know that it's a problem with the car and not you if an accident happens.

Dayumn, I thought the RPM increase when braking was supposed to be a small/subtle increase as per the TSB - this sounds like a ghost is flooring your car when you're stopping! Get it checked out and fixed ASAP before you get in a fender bender.

Ever thought about maybe taking it to the dealer??? We pay a good amount of the price to cover warranty costs; this is serious and could cause an accident maybe you and\or others hurt, or worse; take it in as soon as you can.

Happened to me just once...my foot was on the brake at a red light and the engine revved and inched me forward. Turns out the very tip of my foot was touching the accelerator. No TSB needed, just smaller feet!

Maxd, don't you have the same issues with your coupe in DS mode? I have an 09x coupe as well, and i notice the RPM increase while breaking, but my car doesn't lunge forward.

Just to let you know, in speaking with other G37 owners who were successful like myself in having Nissan North America repurchase our cars, one of the other owners had that problem since day 1, brought it in a few times to try to repair it, which failed. So she called the BBB and went through the Lemon Law process. I've been told if not using the BBB, try your local District Attorney's office, they will have the paperwork to file Lemon Law stuff if it comes to it. But the problem you are describing is exactly what this lady had who also got a repurchase from N.N.A.
