Hi guys, So as the title says.. I'm losing some HP..

here the story.. the car is bone stock, always using 98 octane fuel, around 1 month ago, my car could slip full 1st gear all the way to 2nd gear and all the way to 3rd gear.. i was so happy with it and i was like wow if the car is bone stock and it slip like that then what about intakes, test pipes, cat back and grounding kit..

but last week. in same street and still using same fuel. car still bone stock.
but i slipped full first gear and half the 2nd gear then it goes normal i was like okay maybe i didnt floor it as i did b4.. i did it a 2nd try but nothing!.. and until now the car is not slipping as much as it was like b4!!

Please can anybody tell me why is this happening?? Is there something with my car?? (btw my car is 7AT)

 

Your transmission is slipping? Or you do mean doing burn outs?

If you mean it is not burning out as much, it is because your tires are worn in. Brand new tires have a slick oily outer layer. After you wear into them, you will be getting more traction.

Any why the hell are you using 98 octane. Huge waste of money. Your car only needs 91. Using higher octane does nothing at all for your car unless you are specially tuned for it.

 

There could be several reasons. Tire wear, temperature out side, type of pavement, worn clutch. I doubt the car has lost power. They typically get a little stronger after the first several months.

and lol at ur comment about fuel.. well.. i dont really think 98 octane is a huge of money.. if i really wanna waste money.. there is a fuel that is 118.. now thats a huge of money

 

when ppl say tire wear it doens't mean you have bald tires. when you get a brand new tire it's like gloss, that make the slip cuz you dont; get a good grip. (try this on mall garage where the road is covered with gloss thing you still will hear slip sound then) when it's gone, you don't hear it anymore and get a better grip. and it makes you feel like ur losing some hp. pretty sure it's cuz of that

thats definately not true... ever put in c16 race gas when goin down the track. ud be suprised the difference in #'s .

I would be surprised because it will make no difference. It is all in your head.

 

The tires are not new like before so you have better traction now... You have less slip... Less slip=good

 

it's different system of measuring the octane number of fuel.
American (AKI) 91 ~= 95 RON (Euro and such)
American (AKI) 93 ~= 98 RON

 

you can always change the car to a new one, it will drift great too.. for some time
