Differences between 2008 and 2009 G37s coupe?
#6
Oh, glad I haven't been yelled at yet. So if I were able to purchase with cash a 2008 G37s coupe with only 2500 miles and flawless history for 31k (5 grand below book value), I assume would be a better choice than financing a new 2009 because there aren't any significant changes?

Depends on a couple of factors. Are you wanting an AT or MT? Do you like to be able to detail your car? Do you plan on driving spirited/racing or laid-back? Is fuel economy important to you?
If you want an AT and plan on driving spirited, then get the 5AT 08. Better tranny (no issues) and is much better for racing.
If you want 6MT, than pick either. IMO I would go with the 08 due to the seat heater ***** being ugly as hell in the 09.
If you like to detail your car then get the 08 (buffers are not recommended for self-healing paint).
If fuel economy is important to you than get the 09 7AT.
To put it bluntly and honestly, the 09 is not really an upgrade, but more of an even trade for most of us.

2009 is an upgrade if you are getting an automatic. The new paint isnt anything amazing. You are still going to get rock chips and swirls. I would say if automatic, get a 2009. Manual, I would stick with an 2008.
