Thinking of trading in my '09 MW for '09 Convertible...

So, I have an apointment at 3:30pm today for my 1st service on my new '09 Moonlight White G37S 7AT (Premium/Sport/NAV/Tech/4WAS/Mud Guards/Spoiler/Illuminated Kick Plates/Spoiler). I have a little over 3800 miles on it. I've never had a Convertible, and my wife wants a BMW 3 Series Convertible for her next car. I was thinking of a Black Obsidian w/ Red interior (Sport/Premium/Tech/Mud Guards/Illuminated Kick Plates/non-4WAS). How much do you think I'd lose on my G and what kind of deal do you think I could expect to get (if any) on the Convertible? What do you guys think?

Thanks,
-Jeff

I wasn't sure what section to post this thread in, LOL. Either here, Convertible section or even bBuying & Leasing. If it's in the wrong area, sorry, Moderators please correct. Thanks (again)!

Okay well first of all, you'd be losing sooo much money on your trade in.

Second of all, red interior is only offered on the special bloomingdale editions of the convertible, not the regular one's.

Thirdly, I believe a loaded bloomingdale's edition is over 55k so you'll be losing money on ur trade, plus paying a ton for this car

No Jeff! DON'T DO IT!! BO/red interior combo sounds nice though.

I think the best way to do this is talk to your sales rep. (if you think he/she can be trusted to give you the best deal possible)

You'd lose BIG, probably +$10K

I want you to get it, so we can see a modded 'vert.

I didn't know that the Red interior was only on the Bloomingdale's Edition. I knew I'd lose but I thought that since my G was Loaded w/ every option w/ a MSRP of $48,500 that I'd be OK if I went w/ a slightly less equipped 'Vert. I guess it doesn't cost me anything to check into it though.

***If I did get it all my current mods would be on it the day I got it, plus some new ones I'm sure, LOL.

It would be pretty sweet that your mods can just transfer over to the new ride.. but i think if i were to get a 'vert it would have to be a S2000. I am not really a fan of the 335i's look when the top is up. The G37vert isn't too bad looking though.. its starting to grow on me.

Will they also take your penor in tade for the vagina and ***** required to own this car? J/k. Seriously though, I wouldn't think it makes a lot of economic sense to trade in a new car for the same new car in convertable. I'm also wondering why you would have purchased a hard top if you knew the convertible was coming out and that you might want it instead.

LOL, it just came down to timing and impatience. My '07 GMC Yukon Denali lease was scheduled to go bad Mach 17th, I didn't want extend it, and I gave it a shot selling Infiniti's (didn't work out) and also got a discount on the Coupe while I was there.

Your car looks sweet. Just spend the extra money you'd have to lay out on a twin turbo.

I traded in a 08G37s premium nav for a 09G37x premium nav and lost aabout 7k + interest. Not to bad considering I get X and brand new. The way the deal worked I lost about 17 payments and just had to start over. No money down or anythingelse.

Keep your car. Don't get the vert, unless you don't like money. You're be out way over $10K after everything's said and done.
