I just traded in a 2007 Mustang GT for this and have no regrets:

https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...sport-6mt.html

Now I can actually seat four adults in my car. My kids can get in their own doors and buckle themselves. My trunk holds two golf bags and more.

Best of all, I still get the coupe sport goodies and a 6MT. The coupe looks hot, but I can't justify a car that impractical. It's bad enough I have RWD and summer tires living in Chicago. <ST1</ST1I will be in the market for winter wheels and tires this fall.<O</O

Until now, I've always been interested in the G35 Sedan, but thought it just wasn't sporty enough. When Infiniti decided to offer the coupe motor, brakes and steering ratio for on the sedan for 2009, that pushed me over the edge. Good move Infiniti!!!<O</O

You'll pay a big financial hit to make it happen, IMO, not worth it. Let's say they give you $4 K less than what you paid for it 2 months ago (I actually think that is a "best case" scenario), that's $4 K loss for just 2 months, it's crazy!

Hey, I was in similar shoes as you. When I was 25 I bought a brand new '04 sedan. At that time I couldn't justify the $5K price difference between the coupe and thought that I would actually need a sedan to take clients out for lunches... well, after a year of ownership, I sold the sedan. I then ended up leasing a G35 coupe and after the lease bought G37 coupe. I think that the coupe is a great sporty car (its not a sports car) but once in a while I wish that I had a sedan (long trips with friends).
At the end of the day, its your decision... but like most of the people on this forum had told you, financially its not a smart decision. I actually think that current sedans look pretty nice, almost on par with the coupes. Some of the modified ones, dropped with rims, look even better than the coupe... plus they are as fast if not faster.
If I was in your shoes, I wouldn't do it.
Good luck

Herbie,

Have you tried going to the dealer and see how much they will price your sedan. It's worth a shot. Talk to your salesman, which I assume was David. Who knows, you might like it.

I was in your shoes before, well, somewhat. I wanted the G37 coupe but I had something else. And it made me miserable, LOL. So I traded my car in for the G37. I lost some money but hey, I'm 26, single and no kids. I was happy.

Ditto what myk1013 said.

Go back to the same dealer and try to work it out with them. If we're talking investments, spending a few g's on the coupe is a better investment than spending it on wheels.
You also might be able to find a G37 with a few thousand miles on it and make an even trade...

I found a black 08 with 12k miles for $31k. That guy is looking for a sedan so we might do a trade with me letting mine go for $33k. I'm a bit weary because he's a second owner so it'll be a third hand car. What do you guys think of this deal? I'm just not sure how the auto loan will work because I'm currently financing my car. Need some advice.

The 08 will still be under warranty so you're protected in that sense. Take it for a good, long test drive, maybe even have the dealer look it over. Might cost a $100 but it'd be worth the piece of mind.

The replies to this post are like that old movie Animal House where the kid is trying to decide whether or not he should jump his drunk date. A miniature devil appears on one shoulder and an angel on the other; one is yelling Do it! and the other Don't do it!

You have emotions saying Do it! and financial logic saying Don't do it!

When I was 26, I had a Boss 302 Mustang. Never regretted it. Wish I still had it.

I am probably the older than most of you on this post but I would recommend keeping the sedan. Financial hit will be large, performance delta is going to be negligible, and even though the G37 is sweet, it does not have the G35 coupe's clean and chiselled lines. I prefer the sedan styling over the new coupe. If you put larger wheels, do a nice tint, and possibly add CAI and a catback, I for one, if I spotted a G37 sedan with this stuff, I would roll down my window and

My 2 cents...

I know how you feel. I bought a 2009 Honda Accord coupe back in November 2008 and regretted not getting the G37. Now I just went for it and traded in the Accord and got the G37s coupe.

I am currently going through the same thing, looking to sell this and get this

I know it is a horrible financial decision, and probably seems crazy to most in this forum but I think it is what I need to do...
