Keep the sedan, pay it off quickly, trade up to a GT-R. I have a feeling that you may want something more then the G37 coupe after you have it for a year or so. Either that or trade up for the coupe, pay it off and go TT.

Alright as much as I want the coupe. I think I'm just gonna get some 20's, drop my sedan, and call it a day. I figured I will have to shell out at least an extra $7k to switch to the coupe and quite honestly there are other things I want to get with that money. I'll pay the sedan off in 3 years and then maybe trade it in for a 335. But if you guys continue to convince me to switch to the coupe I still might take the plunge

$7k loss is not worth the trade IMO. Because even after you get the coupe, you will want to mod her too (Drop & Wheels)

So just drop some $ on the Sedan and pimp her up!

Couldn't have said it better myself.

You may not be turning heads now, but once you get that drop and a pair of works or volks, or any forged wheel for that matter, you'll be making heads do 360s all day.

Go with some nice Vossen 20s, some aggressive tires, drop it, intake, and a nice lip to finish it off. The money it'll cost you just to trade is enough to turn your sedan into a BEAST!

Ok I checked blue book and I can sell it for $34,250 to a private party. I paid $36k flat for it so I'm not losing that much. How much did you guys pay for your sport coupe?

look on ebay, nobody is giving $34k for a used G sedan. put yourself in the buyers shoe, would you buy a car thats used or a new one if the difference is only 1000-2000? Besides, dont forget that you lose special apr on a used infiniti, so financing a $34k used car at 6.9%apr ends up being more expensive than financing a $38k new car at 0.9% apr. Im telling you bro, go to the Dealer and be prepared to be shocked. I would just mod your sedan up. put some nice 20s with a nice lip, drop it, and put the oem lip kit with the grille on it, tint the car, voila, big big difference already. do your search on the sedan forums, the Jdm vip look is sick!!! The coupe looks nice but keep in mind, no realistic back seat, the rear window slopes down like crazy so no average height persons gonna sit comfortably. the trunks good for 2 case of beer, thats basically it. But listen, just to save yourself from wasting time doing all this thinking and research, go straight to the dealer and be prepared to get shocked on the price difference. I say a solid $5000-5500 loss on your car on top of the price increase of a coupe from a sedan, so Im guesstimating a good $8000 difference. Hope Im wrong. Just ask some of the fellow forum members here that work at the Stealership. lol

I know where you are, been there. My first car was a 1970Z, new, when I was about your age. (God I'm old. :-) It was followed by several more Z's. I've also been a member of the LA Chapter of the BMW Car Club of America for about ten years and just purchased a 2009 G sedan.

IMHO, both G's are -very- nice cars. I think the sedan appeals to a wider age demographic. Some people need to haul four people at a time, a lot of the time. I do and went for the sedan. Thursday, I drove my wife and another couple to Sedona for lunch from Prescott via Jerome. Nice drive, in that situation, I think a sedan is a plus, if I had driven it solo or with a "date" a coupe would have been my choice.
I'd say the coupe is a sport car with four seats if needed; the sedan is a four seater with sport if needed. Both are excellent choices. If you have to choose just one. :-)

By the way, someone here should get the referral cash from Infiniti for my June purchase. If you have an unused redemption code, please send me a private message.

The sedan does weigh about 50lb less, but the difference in drivers weight could offset that in a head to head matchup. The cars should run nearly identical times in a straight line..

I think the coupe has a slight edge in any test that requires turning the wheel.

ever think about just trying to sell the sedan? It may take a bit longer to get your coupe but it will prob. end up costing less to switch into a coupe.
