1st manual here as well... lovin' it.
I'll admit - I ain't a great shifter. I just bought new shoes that are heavier than my last pair and I've had nothing but jerky shifts and clutch burning since.
I wish I had 93 around here somehwere....
After seeing finagle's car - imo, white is sexier than black... but we all know PG is the best right??

Ok, from my summary
They are both quick, 7AT and 6MT, each has its own pros and cons
I decided to buy a 7AT... because if i want a 6MT i rather go buy 370z, much more "sportier" g37s is a luxary sport by all means
i test drove both and know theres a delay when switching gears on the 7AT but overall i think the speed is still the same so... meh...

lol not defensive if you look at the post most auto guys say it it up to your tastes while the 6mt guys say they are gods and real men and that they are perfect shifters and cn beat the &at even though all the evidence shows the auto is faster.. I know how to drive stick and so does the wife but we bought an auto. Both the at and mt ares sweet rides.

5AT, I'm a techy and like my car to have some personality rather then be a noisy stick pardon the pun. Neither transmission is worth a fvck but the auto was my preference considering the pro's and con's of each. Next car will be DCT though... don't need no stinking clutch.

Every car I've owned has been an MT, but when I buy my 2010 G37 it will be the 7AT. I want luxury with some sportiness. For the "real men" preferring to control their cars, they made a big mistake buying a G37-MT and instead should have purchased the faster and better handling 370Z. Just saying...
Good job, Mysticalism, in sorting through all this homerism and reaching the right conclusion for you. For the MT drivers, nothing replaces notching through the gears and commanding the tranny shifts with the skill of a maestro, even if your music isn't always perfect.
