Locking the keyfob

Locking the keyfob
Is there a way one can lock the keyfob? I was working on somethings today at work, and leaned up against my key. Needless to say, I couldn't use it to unlock my car OR start it. When I tried to unlock the doors, it just wouldn't respond. I did use the manual key to get into the car, but when trying to start, I got the little red car with the key icon on my dash. I'm hoping my other keyfob works, or maybe I need to get a jump.
Anyone know if this is possible, and if so, how to unlock it?
Thanks

I don't think there's a way to unlock it. But if it's out of battery, can't you stick it in the key fob slot next to the steering wheel to start your car?

But the red light with a little car and a key means the security is working; it's always blinking when your car is off and has nothing to do with your key fob not working.

The red car with key is the normal security indicator. Didn't your red center matrix display show a "NO KEY" warning when you tried to start the car?
If the battery was low you would have been able to use it with the slot on the lower dash. The fact that this didn't work to me means the key could be broken, but it's possible the battery is so dead that the port still couldn't pick up the signal. Try replacing the battery. By leaning on it do you mean you crunched it?

i remember with my volkswagen that if you pushed the unlock button to many times and were out of range of the vehicle it would decode itself and need to be recoded.. it does this so if someone steals your key they can not just walk aroudn a parkign lot hitting the button till they find your car.. Infiniti might have the same feature, not sure
