My thoughts exactly. Perhaps we should just never turn on the ignition at all because it's just too dangerous.

Also agree. Infiniti's design prevents accidental engine shutoff, but if for some reason in an emergency you need to shut the engine off you can.

I guess by the logic of those concerned, other cars with keys are also dangerous because you can turn the ignition OFF while the car is moving.

What if your car starts leaking something like oil for example while you're on the road?
I remember reading on the bimmerpost forums one of their cars hit a tire on the freeway and it split the oil pan on the car and it started spilling all over. Would it help to shut off the car immediately in this situation or no?

side note: Infiniti isn't the only car to be able to be turned off while moving. I know for fact bmw's can be turned off while in motion as well because my friend's car went into limp mode once on the road and instead of pulling over he just went into neutral and restarted it

With my old car i use to turn it off about 200 feet from my drive way because i was already going about 30mph.. It would expedite my coming out of the car process!
