I babied my car until 1k miles... to be honest it doesnt matter once you passed 100 miles... how ever you drive your first couple of miles is how your cpu learns how you drive.

When I saw the title, I was gonna say you take a crowbar to the window to break into the G... lol

I did it as per the manual; better safe than sorry. Everybody's allowed to do whatever they feel is "right", of course. Do donuts with your car if you want.

The point is your car won't suddenly fall apart and break down just because you floor it, but common sense still applies. Have fun with your car!

one more suggestion

I would suggest you change oil and filter after first 1,000 to 1.200 mile before you do wheelies, to make sure you've got rid of any residual stick and stones.

Just as long as you don't beat the crap out of it, you'll be fine. Get that oil change at 1000 miles, then let loose.

I'm hopefully going to be getting my G37 in the next couple of weeks. Is there any problem with taking a 150-mile road trip (300-miles round trip) within the first day or two? (I'm really hoping this isn't going to be a problem.)

I was thinking 'breaking it in' in a whole other way. And Yes.

I just hit 1100 miles too.

The debate over break in is as old as the internal combustion engine. I have owned many cars and I subscribe to the notion of 100 miles of easy break in followed by 400 miles of moderate driving and then drive it like you stole it!!!

One of the most important things you can do for your ride is regular oil changes with quality lubricants.

Have fun, be safe & enjoy!
