how can i remove the lower grille on the sports bumper? can it be taken out from underneath the car by removing the underguard screws? or does the whole bumper has to be off? planning to paint it gloss black

There is a DIY for removing headlights which requires you to take the bumper loose as well. Good directions there, follow them. You don't have to take the bumper completely off, but the top and sides come loose and you can take it out that way. It looks great painted black BTW. Do the side fake vents too while you're in there, it's easy and you'll already have the bumper off.

Never tired, the method in the DIY was easy enough for me. Perhaps someone else has an easier method?

Has anyone tried to get the lower grille out from under the car by just removing the splash guard over the past 6 years since this thread was created?

I'm planning to paint mine, so doing my due diligence.
