Monthly expenses for the G ?
Hi im new here. Im looking to buy a G37s. Since this is my first time buying a car without the help of parents, I want to know how much I have to spend on the car on average per month. For the monthly payment I will pay around $550-$600.but I dont know about other expenses such as gas, insurance, oil, maintenance cost.. etc. So can you guys tell me how much do you spend on your car per month so i can have a picture of how much im gonna have to pay ?
Thank you

If you're unsure about insurance just phone around and get some quotes to give you a better idea on what you're going to be paying.
In terms of gas, try and get a rough idea as to how much you drive in a day/week/month and then you can easily estimate the cost of gas per month.
Oil/Maintenance costs are definitely not every month so depending on your driving habits it would be 2-3 times a year for an oil change. Most dealers charge around $100 for the Nissan "Ester Oil." If you do it yourself with whatever synthetic oil you prefer, you're looking at reduced costs there.

give u a rough idea. my insurance is $1200 half year, maintenance about $40 every 2 - 3 months, but u don't need to change that often, gas depends, full tank goes about 200-300 miles and $44 right now. i don't have monthly payments because i just bought the car

+1 Your monthly expenses on top of your car payment depends on several factors that only you would know. For me, I pay around $70 per month for insurance, $150 per month for gas. Synthetic oil changes come around usually 3 times per year at $70 per service. Down the road, replacement tires will set you back around $1000-$1200 dollars.

thanks for the help guys. I really appreciate that. One more question. I know the g37 hasn't been out for that long but do you guys think its a reliable car ? I know its a good car but I'm just afraid it's kinda like the BMW, good car but high maintenance.
Thank you

I've had my G since August 08. It now has 31,000 miles on it and I've only had to take it to the dealer once for some TSB work. Other than that, absolutely no mechanical problems. For common problems, do a simple search on here and there are several threads that address minor annoyances/flaws you may want to be aware of.

Like most cars in it's class, it's not the most practical.
-Tires are $300 each at tire rack and wear out fast.
- Requires high octane fuel for an extra ~¢20 per gallon.
- You'll be lucky to get 30k miles out of your brakes and you're not going to get them done for $69 an axle.
