Puddles of water in the G..

Alright.. this is strange. If your living in Florida, you know what kind of weather we are having right now. Its been raining for the past few days, and will continue to rain for the next week or two.

I got into my car this morning and noticed in the center of the driver floormat was damp.. like A LOT OF WATER. i figured it was one of my buddies who drove my car the night before. We just drove from his house to mine. I took 3 microfiber towels, patted it as dry as i could, and proceeded to work.

When i get out of work.. the puddle is there again!! Now its worse, i have no microfibers with me. My pants are soaked, and as im driving home, i look to the left where my arm rest is.. and on the bottom in the corner, there is a PUDDLE of water.

The driver side and left rear passenger side of the car is damp. The passenger & right rear passenger is completely dry..

Has this happened to anyone here? I called off work tomorrow so i can take it to Infiniti.. but dang, leaking in a car that cost me 40k! I can't say im exactly pleased.

Wow. One I have not heard of before. Checked all the seals on the drivers window and driver side of sunroof? Wouldn't take much to cause a big problem given all the rain you are having.

Its not leaking through the sunroof or either door, both are completely dry. The trunk is also completely dry, as well as the seats. The only thing is the floor.

on our old QX4, similar things happened before, but it was on the passenger side, we thought it was the rain at first, but it would never dry up even after it stopped raining, the dealership found out it came from the AC, take it in to the dealership and have them take a look at it.

it might be a clogged sunroof drain.. used to happen to vw's all the time when i worked there... when clogged it would drain into the carpets.. if the problem is covered under warranty make sure the change your rugs as well or else it will smell like kaka once it starts to dry up!

Did you park in a flood prone area?

Hmmm, very strange. I doubt it's the AC leaking and getting it THAT wet. Esp since you said it's been raining the past few days. The water is channeling and finding a weak spot in one of your seals somewhere. Why don't' you sit in the car and have someone spray it down with a water hose and see if you can pinpoint the leak??

Not necessarily, water is sneaky and follows the path of least resistance, so it might be flowing in and going behind some panel that you cant see behind and making it's visible entrance lower in the floor area.

Sorry to hear about this.
My car's been sitting outside the past couple of days, and no leaking anywhere. I'm betting on the window seal - could be diverting the water to the inside of the door, then maybe out the speaker or the bottom of the door.
Good luck at the dealer, let us know what they say.

My bets on the AC as well. Definately worthy a dealer visit.

Do you think the windows need to be reset. When you exit your car they lower an inch but dont go back up untill your press unlock at the end of the day?
