I have the 6MT and live in the corridor between Detroit, MI and Toronto, ON. Snow amounts vary between December - March. There were about 4-5 good snowfalls during this time (6"+) and I *almost* got stuck in an unplowed parking lot -- car was plowing and the traction control kicked in a lot. I'm sure if I shut of traction control, I would have gotten out a lot sooner!

Running 18" Sport Edition rims (cheapo ones from Tirerack) paired up with 235/50/18 Nokian WR G2 tires. They are 'all-season' tires with the snowflake emblem, which means they can be considered as winter tires. Of course, the tire compound is harder so it won't grip as well as a true winter tire.

I'd say if you were to go with the 'sport' model and 19" rims, buy a set of the Nokians I have (www.tirefactory.net -- ask for Josh) and you should be fine. I think the Blizzaks for you would be overkill. I can almost guarantee you won't get as much snow in Cincy than in this part of Canada.

I apologize but if you haven't noticed, I was being sarcastic. Hes considering sports over awd just becuase the rims come in 19" when you cant feel the difference. The choice is kind of obvious here. I told him he should get 6mt fully loaded becuase that's what I have and I love it and Ill stand for it. Some people don't need the options. I feel that if am buying something (for 40k) I should buy the best version of that thing so I know I'm not missing something. It just makes me feel more comfortable.

Btw, my friend has a g35 with winter tires he never had a problem and my sister has an IS300 she never had problems in the winter with all season tires. The IS300 has a PWR and SNOW feature (not sure what they do exactly) but she never used the snow feature. She actually used the PWR feature I asked her about it and she said the car drives better with power but whatever I let her be.

I had summer tires on my c32 with 0mm thread left and I drove the car maybe 7 times in the whole 3 month winter period because i was too cheap to buy new tires.

dude get the G37S with the 19s and get the winter package from tirerack. I have a set I bought from them, 18s with Blizzaks LM25s and they were AMAZING in the snow and cold freezing weather. Store your nice 19s during the winter and then once warm weather comes back, put those babies back on..plus RWD is

I've yet to hear of anyone placing 19's on the AWD.
I drove my G37S all winter with Blizzak LM-25 tires. You can't floor it off a stop light but I didn't have any trouble driving it in the snow.

Once you pick up your new G, we'll have to arrange a Cinci/Dayton get-together. I still want to hear Seatown's Tanabe exhaust and Injen CAI. Hopefully you'll be able to see a few other mods from some more locals.

Yeah that sounds great.

I might actually be buying my G up in Dayton. They have a white 08 6MT with Premium for $35,400. I'm still shopping, but that sounded like a good deal.

FYI: Both Infiniti of Dayton and Infiniti of Cincinnati will only offer you valet or loaner service for your maintenance appointments if buy the car there. I bought mine up in Detroit, and I had to sit there and wait every time I took it in for an oil change. Luckily, one of the members here on the forum works at Infiniti of Cincinnati and he was kind enough to help me get a loaner from now on. But that's something you might want to ask about before you buy the car.

Also, $35.4 is a decent price for an '08. But you can definitely do better. You're looking at buying a $35K sport coupe in Dayton, OH, where the unemployment is skyrocketing and NO ONE is buying cars. I got my '08 6MT in August of '08 and I only paid $34K (used, but only had 2000mi on it). If that's the car I think it is, then it's been sitting at IoD for a pretty long time. I would think you could get them down to the $30K range for that car.

Hey, I was just at IoD to get my oil changed. That '08 moonlight white 6MT is on the showroom floor along with a platinum graphite '08. The PG is a dealer demo with under 4,000 miles on it and they're only asking $36K. The sticker on the white one was $39K. You could probably get an awesome deal on either one!!

Hey thanks for the info on the Dayton cars! I have yet to go up there. I just offered him $33K for the white one... You really think I could get it lower than that?

I just returned from Infiniti of Cincinnati and they have an 09 Athens Blue 6MT with Premium that I'm tempted to buy. They offered me $37,418.

So many choices!

Wait a minute... are the 08's actually still white? Or is it some sort of cream color?

Ivory Pearl and Moonlight White are really close to the same thing. As for pricing, I'm not sure. The salesman I talked to acted like they're not having much trouble moving cars right now. So they might be less likely to deal than I had assumed.

went from a 07 350z and an impreza (winter car) to an 09 g37x. so far im happy i made the switch. while i do miss the manual transmission, the x still has the real wheel drive feel (especially in DS mode with the traction control off) because of the real wheel bias. i live in columbus ohio (gets a bit more snow) and drive to northen ohio alot to see family (gets ALOT more snow). if you are going to get a auto car anyway, id def go with the x.
