I see the scoops now. but you do know the stillen is already a ram air right? Plus I think with out a tune your playing with fire. Your ramming all that air into two intakes and the factory computer will not adjust to that much air

actually he said our ecu r continuous learning or something like that. he said it will adjust to the scoops bringing more air in and will add sum more fuel, producing more power. trust me, he knws a **** load about cars, being as tho he does crazy mods to bmw, mercedes, lambo, ans ferraris almost everyday...

They seem to get decent reviews on the bimmer forums. Makes sense but now way they add that much power. Its a touchy subject around here, everyone wants dyno for everything if you make number claims.

A thread i found via google . . .

"Do to the nature of how the product develops hp by directing air into the intake it still will not be an accurate measure of actual road conditions. You could get a measure of a specific speed like it adds 2hp at 80 MPH in 3rd gear with fans supplying air at 80 MPH. Other than that it is not going to be an accurate measure of gains at other speeds unless you could vary the speed of the supplied air to match the increase in wheel speed on the dyno. That would take an obscenely expensive wind tunnel that could change wind flow as fast as the car could accelerate."

"the point is for highway roll on's these help, they may give you 2hp or 8hp, either way there cheap, and effective, i have them on my car and it does feel faster and smoother at 110mph.."

and some dyno graph . . .

Well you just have to put everything into perspective, my friend. There are numerous reputable companies out there putting in hundreds or even thousands of R&D hours to create a product which yields half the horsepower you're claiming. Note that these are qualified automotive engineers with years of experience in the industry. Since your example relates to air induction, let's take an intake for example. I think the highest gains I've seen on an actual dyno chart is 18hp. So you're saying that after all that exhaustive RDT&E that company put in, you and your friend managed to put a scoop into the grill and DOUBLE that output?

All I'm saying is you're making a bold statement. Put some dyno charts up or something that carries more weight if you really want to get our attention. If I came to your door as an insurance salesman and said I can match your current insurance policy rate for pennies on the dollar, I'm sure you'd initially think that's a load of crap. I think that's kind of how everyone is feeling here right now. Show some substantial proof of this 35+ hp gain. If you're right, then you're onto something HUGE that will surely send shockwaves throughout the G37 community.

Fact is the vast majority of forums out there would probably react the same way if they read such an audacious claim. I know you feel disrespected by some of the commentary here, but everyone is really nice and helpful, so please don't judge the community based on the responses you've received; this is probably the best G37 resource out there on the web.

I do sincerely hope that you're right though, because that would definitely be on top of my list of things to do for the car.

Look forward to hearing from you again. Welcome to the forums!
