Fix it ticket with velcro or zip ties. Thats what i did and when i got it checked they said "your gonna have to drill that" and i was like oh i didnt know. And they signed it off!

I have to say the motorized version you got is the best permanent fix I've seen. Best of both worlds too. Now all you gotta do is wire it so that it deploys when you lock the car from the outside, haha.
