Acura is ahead of us on this one, they can start from the remote, it will save you from putting shoes on going out there in the snow and then coming back inside and undressing and redressing again......still a nice system.

Not from what I see http://www.acura.com/Features.aspx?model=TL&context=All

Keyless start is optional too.

Yeah, or by that logic, your car would stop if your key fob battery died while driving.

don't think so. i thought 06-07 G35's 5AT just had the push start and the 6MT didn't.

I don't know if you can start the car this way but if you've left the key behind you can have someone open the doors remotely over the phone. While on a cell walk up to the car and have the person on the other line press the unlock button to open the car.

My previous statement has nothing to do with driving without the key, I don't know if the car can be started without the key but it may be possible because it can be unlocked without the key being 'present' (in the traditional sense).

I would have thought they would put some logic into the intelligent key. If initially started (key sensed) and then placed into drive or reverse (key not sensed) it should shut off. Does not seem hard to do. It should only work when first started and first gear selection (drive, reverse or 1st gear) change.

I rather not the car turns off itself under any conditions, it's just way too dangerous.

+1

People should just remember to keep their key with them when they drive off. I clip it to my belt buckle before I get into the car. That way- where I go the key goes.
