I'm going to test drive both a 5AT and 7AT next week, the only thing is around here they dont have any 09 RWD's only 7AT AWD's. Wonder if that will feel the same.

 

Keng, I'm refering to crusing speed, the 7AT would cruise at least 1K lower RPM that's why it get's better gas mileage. At that RPM you don't hear your engine on either car. A trivial mater but it is something I enjoy on the 5AT.

 

7AT cruises around 600 rpm lower at 80mph.

 

2nd gear in the 5AT is great. Just get the 5 and throw on a BB grounding kit and it will feel ten times smoother and faster and use the dough you save on some mods.

 

umm so ur asking us what to buy? 5at or 7at? aight aight here what i did.. i used to have a 5at g37S.. but after i heard there is a 7at!! i went directly to trade my car to the new one... i gave the dealer my car and i paid extra money to get a brand new 7at.. lol and btw i trade it without having a test drive.. bcuz u know if 5at is better than 7at then infiniti is not that stupid to update their cars for worse. and if ur asking about saving fuel?? yep its save more fuel than 5at.. and what u wanna know?? ummmmm u know what dude??? g37 FTW lol just get anything

Oooh shizz!! Spent my entire day off today at area dealers workn numbers, TEST DROVE the 7AT and the 5AT and frankly didnt notice any differences. Both were silky smooth and quick. I guess I'm just in love with g37's Anywho, my picky a$$ is in the process of making a final decision (lets just say my on screen name by next Wednesday will be changed to tommy08g37S or just tommyG37S )

I've driven both on the same day. I didn't like the 7 speed after driving the 5 speed. It's not faster off the line. On paper it is but not in real world.

 

nope i didnt trade my 5at for 7at just bcuz of gas..

 

LMAO i love how all of you who have an 09 say how its faster then the 08 just because u spend 8 to 10k more on the car and you want to make your self feel better that your faster NOOOOOO you are NOT! ANY questions or concerns race me lol =]~

 

8-10k more? the MSRP only jumped about a grand and the interest is probably 2-3k max. The same could be said that since 09 got the 7AT, you 08 owner are jealous and refusing to accept that the 7 AT is indeed better. Doh.
