My dad has the journey model and i am looking into getting a G within the next few years and im not sure if i want auto or 6mt. I drive his car every once in a while and i absolutely love it but i dont know if i would get bored of it just like my acura 3.2 cl which is auto. I would greatly appreciate your guys input. Thanks

like stillballin said, i've not heard anyone regretting 6MT, but i have heard people regretting auto. for me, i KNOW i will not get tired of it, contrary to what my family told me. it's always a blast to drive. i guess it could get annoying in traffic, but it doesn't bother me.

6mt definately sounds like the better choice for me, i just hope infiniti comes out with the sport package and manual transmission on the awd G because i live in NJ and we get a significant amount of snow here in the winter

I got one because of traffic, and I don't regret it. With the hills and traffic I regularly drive in I would go nuts with a stick. And honestly, I don't even use the paddle shifters as much as I thought I would, I have plenty of fun letting the AT do the work.

To the OP... MT is fun to drive but sucks in traffic and hills. I think if you have long driving conditions from/to work or school or whatever you spend your days doing and you hit traffic a lot then AUTO might be best. I'm a first MT G owner since August 08 and I hated hills and traffic, I still do hate them both (mostly hills) but they have grown on to me over the months... traffic is like nothing now but I still hate it lol.. but hills I really hate since I drive throught NYC every couple of weeks and people ride up my bumper so it puts force on me to make sure I don't roll back.. but it's still growing on me and became easier since last summer.

People who actually enjoy driving a MT are not fazed by traffic, hills, or multitasking.
IMHO, if you're debating between MT and Automatic, you're more into Automatic cars.
