Congrats...but manuals are not ALWAYS cheaper. When the C5 vett came out in 1997, the manual was considered an option. I believe it was about $600-700 more to have the 6-speed.

NEW 08 Ivory pearl g37 automatic (sticker 45,900)
sport, premium, nav, spoiler, illuminated, truck mat, cargo net
graphite interior
got it for 39,900, and $500 for the pickup and delivery

with the 0.9 financing its $530 a month with 5k down

got the car delivered yesterday and love every minute of it
just sucks that im probably gonna have to put a front license plate on it b/c i dont want the cops to have an excuse to pull me over if i ended up having a beer or 2 somewhere.....

Get a Stillen front plate mount, no drilling, it goes right into your tow hook.

There is also the show and go mount. If you do a search you can find it. You end up drilling holes on the underneath side of your bumper.

What really sucks is when I bought my 350Z in '03, I bought it from VA, which, like CA, requires front plates. I live in NC which does not. After I sign all the paper work, the salesman says "let me check on your car." The dealer was preping it. My friend and I walk outside a few minutes later to find the dude drilling holes in my front bumper to mount the tag. I told him I was driving the car back to NC right now so there was no need for the front bumper plate. Too late, he drilled the holes already. I later got plugs for it and it didn't look that bad.

De Marco, Congratulations and welcome to the family!
Don't let the peeps trying to crap in your Grape nuts about your deal get you down. I am sure you are going to enjoy the fact that the car you bought does not have a tainted history like the other one did. You did the research and the footwork, Knew what you wanted, Stuck by your guns, And in the end it payed off. You did alright!
As far as the mount goes, I almost went that route until a Cop bud of mine pointed out that even though the plate is there, You can still get pinched for having it folded down. That and the fact that with the way those things mount, If you happen to forget while parking in a lot and clip the curb or the wheel stop that is sticking up it is the potential for some lower front valance damage. We wont even get into driveways! I live between California and Washington state and you can get pinched for no front plate even when you are parked!(the rat bastards!)

I have to say though, That remote controlled mount on the link you posted is way cool in a James Bond 007 sort of way!
