That kind of damage ins not covered by the warranty as it's not a defect in the car, but damage that occurred form abuse (not by you). I doubt the BMW dealership will give you any such waiver. Ask them, the worst they can do is say no.

It all depends on the kind of damage it is. If it's obvious that the damage came from the wheels being stolen (cracked rocker panels near the jack points, bent rotors, F'd up exhaust pipes, etc), then it won't be covered. And any BMW dealership that put cheap aftermarket rims on a low-mileage '08 G37 won't be willing to sign any disclaimer; they're a borderline chop-shop in my opinion for not buying the correct wheels to begin with.

And as Black Betty said, ask if you can take it for a test drive and have it inspected by a third-party mechanic. If they say no, then walk away from the deal because they know there's damage and they don't want you to see it.

i called my friend whos pretty good with cars and hes gonna come with me on friday to drive it and check the underneath out.......if nothing looks wrong on the bottom and the test drive feels good then i guess ill be good to go....

1500 is a good price for those rims on ebay though so i might just stick with them, the tire rash is on 1 tire, not worried too much about that...

i hope they sign a disclaimer anyway or something, ughhhhh man

Good for you! Hopefully everything will check out and you'll be a new G37 owner come Saturday!!

As for the wheels/tires, you can actually beat that price if you wait around on this forum long enough. Besides, you're out in NYC where wheels/tires can be had for about $700 on some of the Civic, Acura, and Lexus forums. You just have to live with the knowledge that you probably bought the stolen wheels of one of your fellow forum members.

The link to the car says "navigation ready" It looks like it hasthe backup camera and it has the navigation keys so why are they describing the car
as "ready". It has the Navigation. Unless something's wrong with the Nav.

question is are these the EXACT same rims that are in the first link, will they fit? before i buy them i wanna make sure its gonna look exactly how it should like the first link

thanks alot guys
the person in the ebay add mentioned that they were the stock rims with "225/40/19" tires. Make sure they're not ALL 225/40/19 because that would just mean a set of 4 front tires and rims. The back tires are a different size.

this is what the guy on ebay said about the tire size

Yes, they are G37 19 inch wheels. But the tires are not the same size that come from the factory. The factory tire size is 245/40/19 Rear and 225/45/19 front. I removed the factory tires and installed 4 new tires all with the same tire size and profile. I did not use them on a G37. I had a G35X and loved the way they looked.

I agree. A car this new with this few miles should be completely trouble free when purchased.

well then there is your answer, if thats the only g for that price, then why? Sometimes stuff doesnt work the way you want it and it sucks, but when you buy the car and the problems begin, your budget will be over. Its just funny how the rims were stolen from a secured dealer lot which Im sure has security it being a BMW place and with locks on the wheels hmmmmmmm.
