Fuel Capacity

Hey everyone. How much fuel does your G37 coupe take when you fill up if your on E and the range meter is showing dashes and flashing?

The manual says the tank is 20 gallons. I know most cars have about 1 or 2 unuseable gallons. So I should expect to put in 18 or at least 17 gallons.

Mine only takes 14.75 gallons when on E and range meter showing dashes WTF? I read somewhere that there is a TSB on this but I wanted to see what everyone else was getting first before bringing it in to the dealer.

depends how you drive and what your average miles per gallon is. i usually end up putting in anywhere from 14-17 gallons when i get down to the warning.

Variable

+1 ^ The range meter seems variable (depending on how you drive) and very , very conservative. Example. It says I have 40 miles. I start driving harder, using DS and paddles. Suddenly it says I have 30 and flashes. If I back off, it still keeps saying 30. If I keep driving hard, it goes to dashes in no time flat. I might still have 3 gallons. It seems to think I might get less than 10 miles per gallon.

I have actually hit the dashes before and thought I was going to run out of gas cause I was stuck in a traffic jam. When I finally made it to the gas station, I only filled up to 18 gallons. I was like wtf? But I normally fill up when I hit the 50 miles left and it only takes 16.

I've gone to about 20miles left on the range, normal driving condition, and tanked up only 15gal. I don't seem to go over 16gal when I fill up anymore. It's kind of odd.

Gan78mao had a similar problem and got a sensor replaced at the dealership.

i dunno if this helps but on my fx35 it would show dashes and on E and i started panicking. I would start the car again and start driving conservatively and it would say 35-45 miles left. also, i had an issue where my tank wouldnt fill up past 3/4, so depending on the severity of your problem, i would seek advice

I think the most I've filled was 17.5ish. It's depressing since that's more than my Accord's total capacity, and I get roughly the same miles out of the tank except the G takes premium. Boo hoo...

But at least gas is still relatively cheap. Yay for rising oil supply!

The light usually light up at around 40 miles left, which is about 2 gallon for me. Then I can drive another 40 miles after it reaches 0. So it about 16 gallon right when it lights up. I usually get it when it stop displaying mileage left, which is around 18 gallons.

I always try to fill up at around 50 miles because I never wanted to get the junk in the bottom of the tank. After reading all this crap and how there is an extra 2-4 gallons left, I am taking that biotch all the way down to -- now.
