I wish Infiniti would have taken a little more time to refine range to empty. I am tempted to throw a gas can in the trunk and drive around until I run out so I can determine how many miles I can actually go after getting all dashes on the range meter. But then I think I am going to really look like an *** on the side of the road filling my G up like its a lawn mower lol.

This is about how much I am expecting to put in my tank when I am on E and range showing dashes. But all I get is 14.75. I am not driving that hard either, I am doing mostly highway driving, and mpg meter shows 19.4 average.
Looks like I might have to bring it to Infiniti for that service bulletin on hard to fill gas tanks.

Highway miles I would say around 40-50, city, about half. It's never good to run your car out of gas or even close to that. There is nothing wrong with your gas sensor, the gauge is designed to read about 15 gallons plus 2 above F and ~3 below E, equals 20.
Just pretend the car runs out of gas on --- and fill-up accordingly. I remember running my G35 extremely long after I hit E one time. Filled up with 19.642 and decided not to chance it again.

Ok I won't be filling up my G like a lawnmower.

when you run of gas the car stops running. No more heat generated and therefore no chance of overheating. No such thing as "running lean" when you're low on gas. You either have gas to run, or you don't.

I have never run out of gas and it really bugs me that the new cars keep bugging you about the fuel. Geez. I'm an adult, let me fill up my own tank without the idiot lights and bells. How about a feature that only bugs you about gas when you get two times the distance from a station in your current direction? (If you are driving in the middle of nowhere, the notice is much sooner than if you are in a city with 10 stations within 5 miles.)

I think it's a luxury not to fill up your car often. And I own a gas station. Was excited that the tank had 20 gallons of capacity, but you can only use about 16 of it apparently before being bugged to death.
