6MT Clutch 'Hop' when taking off in normal driving...
so my car is reacting really weird lately, here is the issue:
- during normal take off's (normal driving), i hold the clutch at the friction point for less than half a second while i maintain steady gas. normally the car would move forward and once i get some momentum i would let the clutch go while accelerating.
- i now have about 10,000 kms on my car and everytime i drive, and take off from a stop, the clutch seems to hop as if the tires were slipping. i can feel a specific pulsating action from my cluth and the whole car itself, its not a vibration because each of the pulse is quite pronouced.
- i have checked the tire pressure and it is fine. could it be that my clutch is wearing out ? or just my bad clutch in/out habits have finally caught up to me ?

What you're experiencing is a clutch chatter or shudder. My car does it too. There are numerous reason why we have it. It could be from an improper break-in or hotspot on the flywheel. I usually take my car to a local strip and drag it.

^ and draging it fixes it ? lol

You only have to overheat the clutch once for this to potentially happen. It's no different from any other MT car, although the G is on the heavier side, so it's easier to slip the clutch for too long and over heat it.

doing a burnout helps it out a bit cause it kindas shaves the metal on the flywheel and clutch a bit. but yeah, its mostly from a hot spot on the flywheel. Its kinda like brake rotors, overheat it once and distort it guess what? you need to cut the rotors. same as the flywheel

^^ I'm no mechanic but I'm not sure how this would happen. Your brakes have a single grab point at the caliper. From what I understand, your clutch is more of a concentric, flat, all-at-once pressure from the plate. It seems like either your flywheel or plate would have to wobble to get a hotspot or wear irregularly.
