How many own without your own garage?

So I am pretty much sold on getting a used G37 whenever I can find one in the config I like at the price I like. However, I do not currently own a house, and likely won't for at least another 3-5 years. With the current economic situation I'm somewhat concerned that:
  • An Athens Blue G37 would stick out in a random suburb apartment parking lot
  • I won't be able to lock it up in a personal/lockable garage. It almost certainly wouldn't be in a parking deck/garage either.
  • It would get vandalized.
How many of you don't have your own garage to lock your G up every night? Have you had any problems? What kind of area do you live in?

I have had no trouble wat so ever... I live in saskatoon canada which has real bad car theft rates but I live in a townhome in prolly the best part of town, if ur really worried get a nice alarm system and park close, maybe get a gun, bazooka, molitov cocktails... just my 2 cents haha

I personally wouldn't own a nice car like a G37 without a garage, but that's me... I'm OCD about cars.

i find it depends on what tangents u go on to take car of it... I have the master in my place and it entails three huge windows opening up onto the street where i park! I dont have an alarm and if all else fails INSURANCE : )

I live in a relatively quiet area in orlando, fl and i had my g35 outside every night for 3 years. It's a house, but the garage is filled with other things. ive had no problems, but since i changed to the g37 and started modding, i decided to make some room in the garage for it.

Especially with aftermarket wheels and such, it just becomes something a thief would take a closer look at. I am in the works of putting on a viper alarm though for extra security measure.

Yea, I'm obviously not planning on living in a shady area of town, but I won't be in a super nice area locked in a garage. It'll be in the suburbs of busy cities (first Atlanta, then I'm moving elsewhere in about a year) most likely in a fairly decent apartment complex parking lot.

Well, most major cities have below ground parking in apartment complexes if you're planning on moving to one...I've lived in Cali for 6 years now and my cars have always had locked+garaged parking in every apt..

Till then....trunk monkey

when i first bought my g35 in st louis, i didnt have a garage for over a year. between winter and no garage, i was worried at first. however, i had so much fun with the car i would never go back. this time around i have a garage for my 37 so im doing a lot better at taking care of it. get the car you enjoy and worry about the rest later.

I kept mine in a garage when i first got it, but now i'm at college and it stays outside. Haven't really had any problems so far. I just make sure I park as close as i can to where i live and watch who i park next to. Most of the time i have to parallel park. Haven't really had any problems with the car getting messed with, except by birds occasionaly dropping **** on it. I just make sure i wash it regularly and dont let dirt and stuff sit on it too long. I also bought a sun shield to put up durring the day. I got mine from here http://www.canvasworks.com/. They are custom fitted for each car and work amazing.

When I got my G it was locked in a garage every night but then I had a change of living arrangements and now I don't. I HATE not being able to park in the garage but right now I don't have a choice. Hopefully that will change soon. I haven't had any problems mostly because of the area I live in and vandalism isn't a problem here.

for me it seems like it doesn't matter if I have a garage or not. My last car has been broken into twice. Once at the train station parking lot where I park to take train to work, and the other time was downtown while I was at a nightclub (in a parking garage). Literally on my walk through the t-station parking lot after work I look at the drivers window and say "pheewwww" everytime it's not broken. *knocks on wood*

Get the car you want. You can't watch your car at all times anyways.

well for me I keep it outside unless there is a bad storm coming in. I live in Dallas which is also kind bad for cars getting stolen. Like yesterday and this morning there was a storm that was passing by so I parked it in a garage.
