Alignment + Possible Warranty Issue

Hey guys,

I'm seeking out advice before I go bother the local dealership here with this mess of a situation. I'll also try to keep my story as short as possible...

Anyway. I live in California and purchased my car from Infiniti of TO. After about 3,000 miles from purchasing my car, I returned to the dealership because I had the infamous A-pillar issue. Being new to Infiniti/Nissan, I also complained about the throw out bearing noise when the clutch was released. Another issue I complained about was that there was a possible alignment issue.

After that whole ordeal... they informed me the throw out bearing was normal, the alignment was perfectly fine, but the A-pillar needed to be worked on because of bad welds. At the time, they wanted to take my car to have a body shop fix the issue. Sadly, I wasn't able to do this because of my work schedule so I said I would come back at a later time.

Since then, I have not been back to that dealership. I left California and drove across the country for mixed reasons... I have since put on about 19,000 miles. It never crossed my mind until I made my way to Chicago. When getting to Chicago, the A-pillar started creaking more and more as well as getting louder and louder. On top of that, I went to have my oil changed yesterday and had a glance at my front tires while it was on the lift. The inside of the two front tires are nearly bald, most likely from a bad alignment. The backs are perfectly fine.

Now, as I don't know how much longer I'm going to be in Chicago for... will a dealership here in Chicago be able to handle these issues for me, including the A-pillar issue?

Also, because I complained about an alignment issue before and there clearly WAS an alignment issue seeing as my front tires are like they are, what can be done about the current alignment and tires? Will they do an alignment under warranty? Will they replace the two front tires under warranty as well or is that doubtful? The car currently has 21,000 miles on it... so I'm guessing they'll simply blame this on the fact of me driving it for that many miles?

Also after being in Chicago, my illuminated kick plate on my passenger side door has been flickering in and out and there seems to be water that has made its way on top of the infiniti logo, partially pressed between the two layers of plastic. It's been snowing and raining a boat load ever since I got here so I'm guessing the rapid weather change has something to do it.

and to top all this off, last night someone whacked my passenger door and put a nice ding there. I'll be that post for tomorrow when I get pictures. God, such a mess I have.

Any advice would be great on this. I really don't want to waste more time then I have to, including the dealerships. I just hope I have better luck with the dealership around here as far as spotting and correcting the problems instead of just letting them run.

My advice to you guys is stay the hell away from Chicago with nice cars

A-pillar and kickplate will be fixed under warranty but you're on your own with the alignment issue. Who's to say that the alignment wasn't fine at 3k miles when the dealer checked it, but over the course of the next 19k it got out of whack?

Your chances of getting this issue resolved are much higher elsewhere than back at the original dealer with an additional 16,000 miles on it. They're going to use that as a reason behind the defect, had you got it fixed it wouldn't be a problem now.
