If you got your G37 used...

...what kind of condition was it in? I'm looking at one with around 17,000 miles and it has some defects and I'm just wondering what kind of condition most people bought their used coupes in.

Thanks!

It's got 17,000 miles and the tires look like they need replacing soon.

Also:

I went to the lot today but they were closing up shop so I didn't get in the car. From the outside it looked pretty good but definitely not babied considering it's a 2008 (which could mean was purchased 2nd half of 2007). There was some evidence the rims had been curbed on the driver side rear and front. The driver front tire had cracks at the base of the tread groves. All the tires would need to be replaced within a year in my opinion. The hood had a poorly repaired chip right at the edge of the hood, little left from center. The passenger door had white paint on the handle (I'm assuming from another car) and several dings. The car had not been washed since it rained on Thurs so it was tough to tell how the paint was other than the obvious things I mentioned. Body panels looked straight and didn't see any major gaps between panels. Glass and everything looked fine.

The rims are minor - you wouldn't see it unless you were detailing your car.

The chip is pretty small - maybe 3 millimeters across. It looked like it had been touched up with matching paint but it is not smooth. None of these are visible from the photos on their site - I tried taking pictures but it was very tough to get anything to show up. I did not see anything until I was less than a foot away.

Dings and scraps were not bad. If the car were just washed on a sunny day you might see them (again, very close up) but otherwise had to tell. I'd say about average considering it has potentially been driven and parked outside since Oct 2007 (so 16 months).
I posted this in another thread (https://www.myg37.com/forums/buying-...rem-price.html) but wanted to see how common it is for used cars (esp. over 10,000 miles) to have these sorts of defects.

These are not defects, but regular wear and tear for a car with almost 20k on the clock.

That's what I meant, my bad on poor word selection. Basically I'm wondering if those imperfections are standard for 17,000 miles or if I should/could find one in better shape.

Expect some scratches, infiniti's paint is bad, also, the seat issue with the leather forming a bubble, the wheels if they are curbed a lot shows that the driver really did not give a F*** about how he drives or does not know how to drive. My front Bumper is all messed up from the rocks and debris on the road(my car is lowered)so expect that too.
But from what you are describing....it seems normal.
If you don't like that one, just buy my car.

From what my friend said it doesn't seem like they curbed the wheels a lot, just that you could tell it had happened if you really looked closely.

He didn't have a chance to check inside (got there at closing time) but isn't the leather bubble covered by warranty?

I purchased mine with just over 20K miles on it a few months back. Had some minor rock chips on the front bumper (expected) and minor scrapes on the wheel (nothing major). Overall, if the car has mileage and was taken care of fairly well, you should at least expect some chips in the front bumper. Everything additional should be considered with the price. Stock tires under "normal" driving conditions can last up to 30K miles. I have almost 24K on the clock and will need new rubber within 2K miles.

Mine's got 25k on it and has almost exactly the same issues. I curbed one wheel at a stupid bank drive-thru and another at a car wash. I also have several chips and marks on the front bumper from normal driving (i will definitely get a clear bra next time). Tires are toast too. Sounds about right to me....

Angry re: weak paint

It's amazing that even after all these years, our cars have such crappy paint. I have a clear bra on the front bumper and am considering the armorcoat for the hood. Without this protection, my car would look like s..t!

how much they want for the car? what option does it come with? Makes a big difference in price, a fully loaded G stickers for around $44k+ while a base one is around $8k cheaper.
