Limited?

So today i tried turning VDC off for the first time since ive had the car.... and i noticed either way with or without it the car doesn't seem to want to let my rear tires burn out from a stop. Not that this is a problem or anything it just caught my interest. Does this mean the car computer still controls our gasing and breaking even with VDC off?

Also, anyone know if an ECU flash would change this?

lol Aright... see my only regret is not getting stick but eh haha. Well i'm not positive i only tried it for a few secs at a stop sign with no cars around it was like a private street. It really surprised me that i didn't notice a difference as opposed to it on. I was using tiptronic tho...hmm

you have to keep in mind we don't have much tq down low and our G's are pretty heavy.. So unless you launch start you won't slip unless you're making a turn or the road is slippery

were you trying to do a standstill burnout. Cause these cars wont let you do that, if your foot is on the brake, it will limit the revs.

yeah it is annoying..wonder if there's some sort of bypass for this apart from the 6MT transmission swap lol

with the 1st gens there was a way, i think you have to remove the fuse for the brake lights or something like that, i never did it.

Yep, they had this mod for the g35. It a small switch that kills the brake light. Easy burn out!

There are a number of threads on here with people not being able to spin the tires. And that's even with the VDC off. This seems very odd to me because I can spin the bejesus out of the tires on Her car. Even with the VDC on I have to be careful with the gas pedal around a corner. I've almost had the rearend pass me by a couple times and that's with the VDC on. With the VDC off, I've left dual black marks at least 50 ft long. The car was in DS (she has an automatic). I was out testing the VDC, ABLS (Active Brake Limited Slip), and VLSD (viscous Limited Slip Differential). Next time I'll take a video. Correction, she'll take the video because I'll be driving.
Side note, it was very cold out and Her car is stock.

I'm reluctant to try any horsepower mods. There is a lot of dispute between what works and what does not. That and the fact that she doesn't need it to be any faster.

hey idk if this will answer ur question, ima take ur question as u wanna do a full burn out.. a nice burn out in a stop.. well our cars, the g37s auto will cut ur engine even with vdc off at 4 1/2 rpm.. idk y but it does.. it only happens if u apple the brake, and jam the gas .. ur rpm's will shoot but will stopp at 4.5k .. .. i know this cuz my boy has the g37s auto just like myself and it happens to him.. .. so if u wanna do a burn out.. in a stop, u gotta let the car roll.. then apply then roll apply roll.. and yata.. besides that.. i personally feel as its good we cant burn out cuz our rear tires cost 311 dollars from the dealer.. think about it.. lmao..

but figure 8's and donuts are completely fun

This. I rarely turn the VDC off (once to show my girl the difference between on and off, couple of other times to scare my friend in the passenger seat). I know you're talking about burn out, but like Ivoid said, getting the back end out isn't hard at all. I've almost lost it a couple of times cornering hard with VDC on.

Spinning the tires at a stop sign or red light, turn the VDC off and mash the gas HARD, to the floor. May not smoke tires, but you'll roll em over a good 7 or 8 times before you actually move forward.
