I'm pretty sure that you cannot lemon law a car that has been involved in an accident, because the accident could be the cause of the problem, especially in this case, where the problem didn't surface until after the repair. I went through the lemon law on a Toyota Solara and was asked more times than I can remember, "Was this car ever involved in an accident?" My attorney told me that if the car was ever involved in an accident, that it would not qualify for the lemon law, due to damage that occurred during the crash.

"Negative Ghostrider, the pattern is full!"
Oh man, the accident having happened AFTER your initial purchase of the car changes everything. No LEMONS FOR U!!!!! Try to get the insurance to total it or hopefully, Infiniti can find and diagnose the problem. Good luck bro!

Yeah, accident = no lemon law.
Have them swap in a known good ECU. Have them completely disconnect the wiring harness from the ECU and re-install it. I haven't played with it in the G yet but I know in other cars that I've fooled with the ECU, it may SEEM and LOOK like it's properly installed until you start having whacky stuff happen (like this)

To all the idiots that are still saying "lemon law" after being told it was in an accident, stfu.
The car worked fine before the accident. It was after an accident that it started acting up. Therefore, the body shop/repair facility and insurance need to figure out what the problem is... it's not Infiniti's fault, nor their responsibility at this point, unless it can be proved that it's not related to the accident, and good luck with that. Sounds like either the computer needs to be replaced, and/or there is a short in the wiring somewhere.
Geez.

OK - So Infiniti just called me - everything come back normal. They put some draws on the system and nothing was out of the ordinary.
They talked to Infiniti Tech Support and said quite a few of G37s have come back with this similar issue. It was determined that I must have been hitting the lock button twice on the key fob when I went to lock my car and that was putting the car/BCM into 'accessory mode' and wearing down the BCM causing it to act weird.
Do not know they truth behind this but I guess I will see what's going on in the mean time with it.
Talked to lawyer, accident has nothing to do with preventing the lemon law process. Especially now when everything came back normal. Car was working fine, accident, car repaired, car was working fine. Car went in for 15k service, dies days later, goes back to dealer, month later car dies again. Something is screwy - so we will see if in fact I am double tapping the lock button.
What ya'll think about their diagnosis?

I think you should bring it back to the body shop and call the insurance company b/c they had a faulty repair. Did anyone ever try to install a different BCM and see if that would cause it? Maybe the ground wire for the whole car has a splice and is cut from the accident? it sounds like no one would try and do a full examination on the car and just rely on what the OBD3 will read
