Agreed,
I gave hell to my brand new 09 on the second or third day after getting it... just couldn't help myself... my irresponsible driving had no consequences whatsoever... I'm now at 12 000Km and if anything, it works even better than those first few days. With the quality of motor we got under the hood, you can easily afford to spoil yourself at least once in a while dude... just warm it up and tear it up.

Its a $40k car... I would baby it and not get the revs above say 5k for an extended time. 1k is a nice break in period. Tolerances are tight and high revving builds unwanted friction and heat. I babied mine until 1k.

I listen to a lot of what Infiniti tells me to do, not everything.
If you need more than the manufacturer of the car stating "...follow these recommendations to obtain maximum engine performance and ensure future reliability and economy of your new vehicle. Failure to follow these recommendations may result in shortened engine life and reduce engine performance" then don't know where to tell you to turn. I didn't look for anything more factual than that. Do whatever you like. I posted that because you specifically asked.
BTW, where's the page that says don't mod it?
