its impossible to program it yourself. it was possible with the g35, but not the same with the g37

Yeah, looks like I'm SOL as far as programming. The ebay one I bought's numbers all match the current one I have so hopefully it will work! I might play the whole, "my key fob stopped working" ploy and see if the dealer will re-program it for free, I'll even talk to the salesman who I referred 2 sales to and see if he can hook me up.

I'm kind of surprised that the dealer isn't charging more than that too.

yeah im surprised the fob is only $35 as well. my g/f just got a nissan remote for her 05 Altima at the dealership (those separate remotes with the lock/unlock/trunk buttons) and the remote itself as a part was about $117 at a discounted rate. And technically our fobs are more "intelligent" However I must admit that Nissan only charged her a set $55 in labor for programming all her keys at once. So the keys were $25 each and remote was $117 and flat fee of $55 for programming.

It seems all places just do the numbers differently but really the "end cost" is right around the same. Also dealership will reprogram both keys in a manner so your lost key wont turn the car on anymore. Safety measure.
