We completed Her's second mod tonight. We have a list of mods she wants to do but very little time to ourselves. The badges are still on because we haven't been home more than a couple hours at a time for the last two weeks, but that hasn't stopped us from looking into some other things.

One of the things on the list is that ugly chrome push button in the middle of the red taillight. That thing sticks out like a sore thumb, or at least it did.

Here's a picture I took a couple weeks ago. Never mind the big plastic chrome badges and the white third brake light, those will be taken care of in due time. Notice the big ugly chrome push button in the middle of an otherwise decent looking taillight.


After removing the taillight, the push button can be taken out by removing two screws and unplugging one wiring harness.


This is what the switch looks like when removed and after scuffing, primer, paint, and clear. I had eight different reds, three brush and five spray. I already had some color samples ready from some other projects so I let Her pick out which one she thought matched best.


And everything back together. Sorry about the close up shots but it's 13 degrees out there right now and I'm a puss.

That's definitely an original mod. Would've never though about it since the chrome button never really caught my attention in a negative way. for being innovator.

Smart move there! I guess smoked tail light guys could smoke the button to match the lense

I'll stick to my chrome button that you modified on your GIRLFRIENDS, but the button on your GIRLFRIENDS car that you painted red, looks real good on your GIRLFRIENDS car.

I hope that your GIRLFRIEND likes the mod!
