Closing the Hood

I have been closing the hood by letting it drop from the point where the hydrolics give way.

However the manual says to slowly close the hood down and the push to lock. Did I damage anything? I've opened the hood several times...

"When closing the hood, slowly close the
hood down to latch both the right and left
locks. Push the hood down to lock the hood
securely into place."

It's fine. The most that will happen is that you lose 10hp every time you slam your hood. Hopefully you haven't done it for 33 times.

Jk. It's fine, you worry too much.

I guess there only concern is possible warping of the metal (by slamming). When the Honda S2000 first came out they had a similar issue.

Does it still open? Close? If you answered "yes" to both these questions in my expert opinion you will be fine.

I sometimes jump on mine to make sure it closed. I have a few dents but it still works.

I never actually touch the paint of my car so of course I lower it to the lowest point possible and drop it to close. No problems. You are just being overly paranoid.

i have a thing against slamming hoods lol
on all my cars i've always just put it down lightly and press on it so it snaps in...and yes i also don't like the fingerprints so i usually use my sleeve or something
